Be Strong in the Lord

"Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might."  Ephesians 6:10

 

Of course it talks about putting on the armour after that.

 

My curiosity is;  How do YOU decide to be strong in the Lord.  Do you call on Him in times of needing it.  Recite scripture.  What kind of mental things do you do?  A little detail would be nice if you are going to answer.

Hi Pamelasv,

 

Interesting & important question. Personally I keep short accounts with the Lord, ie, repent quickly, check out what my mind is focussing on, address wasteful thoughts, etc also build myself up in the Lord by speaking in tongues, & feed my spirit by meditating, thinking, on Jesus, His character, His names etc.

 

Have just `quiet times,` meaning give my mind & body a rest from activity & just relax & appreciate the view. (we are on a farm & have a lovely view of trees.)

 

Too much clutter in our minds & activities makes us emotionally weak & unconnected to what God is doing in our lives.

Jhn 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 
Jhn 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. 
Jhn 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 
Jhn 14:13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 
Jhn 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. 
Jhn 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
