I don't think that the Bible gives us enough information to really know

where she came from. But most tend to theorize that he married one of his

sisters.

Where did noah's sons sons got there wives from if cain taking his sister to wife is a theory ? :lightbulb2:

Noah's sons already had wives before the flood.  Their wives were with them in the ark.

Noah sons shem etc had sons.  who got there wives from where hence Noah sons sons

What makes you think they only had sons?

In many instances the Bible mentions all the sons and not daughters in the lineage.

i was focussing on the sons getting wives  or their cousins thus the wives would have come from their brothers

If Adam and Eve were the only humans God made, then where did Cain get his wife from?

Gen 4:1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, "I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD."

Gen 4:2 And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground.

Gen 4:16 Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, [fn] east of Eden.

Gen 4:17 Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

4:16) Nod means wandering

Thank you.

Edwin.

The Sons

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, Genesis 6:1

Of Adam

which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. Luke 3:38(c-d)

And The Daughters Of Eve

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Genesis 6:2

This is a bit confusing to me.

6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Your post implies that the "sons of God" from Genesis are Adam. The verse you quote from Luke is the tail end of the complete recounting of Joseph's lineage, which goes from 3:23-38. Reading the entire passage, the implication with it ending in "Adam, which was the son of God" seems to be that it serves only to indicate which Adam is being referenced, essentially just drawing the recounting to a formal close. In any case, even if we take all instances of "son of God" in the Old Testament to refer to Adam, using the context of a verse from the New Testament, this presents a new choice of two problematic alternatives: Genesis 6:2 and 6:4 reference "sons of God"; if we are taking the phrase to mean "person directly created by God alone" and "son/daughter of man" to refer to "person created through human reproduction," then wouldn't there either have to be more than one man (and presumably, woman) created directly by God along with Adam (although not necessarily at the same time), or the appellation "son of God" in Luke bearing a meaning different from the one in Genesis?

Also, Genesis 6:4 talks about "giants in the earth" and relates them to the activities of "the sons of God" in a way that seems to indicate that the giants and the sons of God are not the same entities. It also states that the offspring of the sons of God and daughters of men "became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." What does this verse mean? The word choice is very peculiar.

He said they were the first people he created not the only ones

Posted

Where would other people have come from if God didn't create them?  The Bible states that man was created in the image of God.  I would also remind you that if there were other people on the earth, and they were not created by God and weren't descendants of Adam and Eve, that would mean they don't necessarily have a sin nature.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
