Betrayal - God TV

Hi, wasn't sure where to put this, but I've just been reading about how Rory Alec one of the founders of God TV has betrayed his wife and left for another woman.

I think it has been in the news since October, I don't know about anyone else but I just felt a gut wrenching sickening feeling when I heard this.

It feels like a betrayal not only to his wife but to all the millions of people world wide who have been reached through this media. Whatever you may think of God TV, it has brought Jesus to millions who otherwise might not have heard the gospel.

But then I thought about the betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, and also how his disciples ran away when he was arrested. Also how it is so easy for each of us to betray Jesus by thought, word or deed.

Jesus knows all about human betrayal in all of its different forms. I just prayer that this would not hinder the spreading of the gospel.

I prayer that we / I etc would understand how easy it is to slip and to betray Jesus and that myself and everyone here would prayer against complacency in our own lives in all of its forms.

I would say to all who may have been betrayed by a husband or wife that Jesus knows your pain, he knows the feelings of abandonment, but Jesus will never betray you.

Never follow the man! How many times do we have to learn this?

God TV has some good stuff on it, but never follow the man, preacher, teacher, CEO, whatever, never follow the man. Follow pure unadulterated scripture.

God TV had a lot of false teachers on there.   They brought a false Jesus to the public, not the Jesus of Scripture.

We need to remember that you cannot tell the difference between most Christians and unbelievers because they are so much like the world. They want the best of both worlds. Possessions, envy and respect from the world combided with salvation. The Bible tells us this will happen, especialiy in the last days.

So many pastors and godly men have fallen. I have to agree that we are to follow the Man Jesus, not the man who represents Him. It is so easy to get out eyes on people, but none is impervious to temptation. He needs our prayers that he will come to repentance.

I don't know this man but it breaks my heart when I hear something like this.  As was stated we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and not on man.  Man will let you down just about every time.  I pray he comes back to the Lord and there is restoration which is always what God wants.  The decision is up to him.

It's on cable and sat TV Also just put God TV into your web browser and you can watch it live.

There is some good programming on it, but there is also some not so good stuff. I know people who have come to Jesus through it and I still think it is reaching homes where people may not otherwise hear the gospel message.

It's like anything though, there are good preachers and bad ones.

Yes.  We have direct Tv and some people think God Tv is direct from God

 

When human beings put other human beings between themself and God, they will always be disappointed.

I like to listen to Dr. David Jeremiah  -- James MacDonald -- Jack Graham --  Jonathan Falwell  is also fairly good.   And there are also those I Don't listen to. 

 

Actually I don't really Like DirectTV that much -- but it's better than the 'snow' we'd get other wise.  For a long time we were able to get good reception on just TV -- then we had to research various companies available -- and Direct was the least expensive and we could have multiple TV's watching various channels. independently. 

 

 

And there are those who believed that the Authorized version of the KJV was 'authorized' by the Holy Spirit, when in fact it was authorized by King James.
