Phobias

I am a peganophobe (not sure if that's spelt correctly!)... I have a phobia of beards. Weird, I know but I always have. When I was about 5 or 6 my dentist used to have a beard and when my mum used to take my sister, brother and I to the dentist he'd have no problem checking my sister and brother's teeth but when it came to me I'd SCREAM the place down until the dental nurse said she'd check my teeth. A lot of kids are scared of beards but my phobia carried on...and hasn't stopped yet!

One of the biggest problems I find is that you never know when someone with a beard is going to appear in front of you- it's so scary! By way of example...last month I was going back to my office after lunch and as I was going up the stairs I was sending a text on my mobile. i looked up and there was a guy with a huuuuge beard in front of me - I almost fell back down the stairs!

So.... please tell me I'm not the only one with a weird phobia???!

(Though my boyfriend has a phobia of buttons which is a little bit weirder I think)

Well, arachnophobia is my down fall. One of my aunts got bit by some small spider (most likely a fiddleback) and was deathly sick for two or three weeks with such pain that it was terrifying to me.

She laid in bed in my sisters room for two weeks just moaning and screaming. I heard her several times ask my dad to kill her for she couldn't take it any longer. I must have been about 8 or 9. Since then it is just (KEEP AWAY FROM ME).

I don't have any phobias myself. But there was a young woman who used to work at my firm that was deadly afraid of bananas.

No kidding....She was afraid of bananas. In fact, anything that was the same shade of yellow as a banana she would get all freaked out about.

Arachnophobia here. BIG time.

But - my hubby has this thing about the cotton in medicine bottles. He cant' touch it! And if he does, which is entirely by accident I assure you, he reacts as I would if I touched a spider! So, I unplug the bottles for him, and he kills the spiders for me.

Well, I am afraid to look at God. Like when i get to heaven, I'm afraid of what it will be like... Dying and heaven doesn't scare me but to actually look face to face with God scares me. lol

A phobia is like a clinical fear of something, right? like an unreasonable or unexplainable fear?

My wife has Acrophobia, which is the fear of heights.

Yup, spiders will do it for me. I will make a door where there is no door if one comes across my path.
