No Marilyn,

The messenger of the covenant mentioned there is the prophet, John the Baptist.  Mal. 3:1-3 is a prophecy of his ministry.   In fact, that is why it is wrong to translate it as "angel."

I use the Greek dictionary authored and edited by Spiro Zodihates, an actual Greek scholar.   He points out that it means "of the same kind"   in certain contexts like Rev. 10:1.  The fact is that context determines how we understand a word.   Word usage always trumps word meaning.

Sorry, but I am not convinced.   The angel is not Jesus, and there is no reason for me to accept that.  You can keep on believing that if you wish,  I don't really care.  But you will not change my mind.

Hi Shiloh357,

`Change your mind` as if, bro. Only the Holy Spirit can do that as we know. I`m just speaking what I believe as you are too. So to continue. You really need to look at what God is saying about those `angels.`

`And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold He is coming` says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? He is like a refiner`s fire & like fuller`s soap. He will sit as a refiner & a purifier of silver; he will purify the sons of Levi, & purge them as gold & silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.` (Mal. 3: 1 - 3)

All a description of what the Lord Jesus Christ will do. No angel or human could.

`And I saw still another mighty angel..........& the angel stood, saying ....I will give power to my two witnesses...` (Rev. 10: 1   11: 1 & 3)

Again, only activity & purpose that the Lord Jesus Christ can do. No angel or human could.

Marilyn.

As time progresses, we will see Christians turning more and more to strange doctrines and fables.  So we should not be surprised to encounter a lot of peculiar ideas even on Christian forums.

For those who claim that the mighty angel described in Rev 10:1-4 is Christ, the very next two verses demolish that assumption (vv 5,6):  And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

This angel is seen lifting up his hand to Heaven (taking an oath) and swearing by none other than God -- "Him that liveth for ever and ever".  Since Christ is God, and this angel is swearing by the Almighty Creator (the triune Godhead),  he cannot possibly be Christ, but a creature who acknowledges the immutable Creator.

Hi Ezra,

Yes that is true about more strange doctrines & fables, that is why I like to see what God says about the topic. So here we have - lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever. (Rev. 10: 6)

What does God say about that -

`Now see that I, even I, am He, & there is no God besides me; I kill & make alive; I wound & I heal; nor is there any who can deliver from my hand. For I LIFT MY HAND TO HEAVEN, & SAY, "AS I LIVE FOREVER, if I whet my glittering sword & my hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance to my enemies, & repay those who hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood, & my sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain & the captives, from the heads of the leaders of the enemy.

Rejoice, O gentiles, with His people, For He will avenge the blood of His servants, & render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land & His people.` (Deut. 32: 39 - 43)

It is a pictorial representation of Christ`s mediatorial work between God & man. Christ is the Son of Man & the Son of God, thus He can stand between. We know that Paul, by the Holy Spirit says to Timothy -

`For there is one God & mediator between God & man, the man Christ Jesus.` (1 Tim. 2: 5)

What a wonderful illustration of our Lord holding up His hand, & swaring by Himself, that he will `avenge, render vengeance & provide atonement.` Utterly indescribable.

Like I said, Marilyn.   You can believe that rubbish if you want, but I am not convinced.  I don't adhere to your brand of bad exegesis.

Hi shiloh357,

As an older sister in the Lord, let me encourage you that I see God`s gifting of a teacher on you. You explain God`s truths quite clearly at times. And as we know that gifting alone is not enough, the character side of us needs to mature as well. Thus I would exhort you to study & explain your understanding of eschatological scriptures & not just to resort to saying `rubbish.` We need to be workmen who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. `But shun profane & vain babblings for they will increase to more ungodliness.` (2 Tim. 2: 15 & 16)

Marilyn,

I have explained repeatedly why the angel is not Jesus.   You violate the rules of hermeneutics by reaching out to passages of Scripture that have NOTHING to do with Revelation 10 in order to impose your view on who the angel is.  You insist on your lack luster approach to Scripture and are bent on forcing your view on to Revelation 10.   I have said all I can say to you. You prefer sloppy exegesis to sound interpretation.

I can actually say that I have been following your teachings Marilyn for a very long time on the End time,Eschatology, and Prophecy forums and I would consider you to be in error. There have been many, many Biblical errors I have noted. That is if a person is reading the true, literal word of God.I believe it is people who post doctrine that is not correct that we need to be very much on guard and keep our discernment very sharp.

Hi bopeep1909,

I can quite understand how much of what I say is different from what you have been taught. I am open to people showing in scripture where it is wrong. As I told you earlier I was taught these things by ministers of God. Back in the `50`s & `60`s we were taught of Apostles & Prophets & saw those ministries functioning. However other Christians didn`t understand at that time & even laughed at us. However as time has gone on that revelation, clarity of scriptures has come across the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit.

I was also taught of the `eternal purposes` as you see in my interest box, & I quite fully realise that others will not understand at this point in time. However, I do believe that we will all come to the unity of faith in Christ as the Body, clearly understanding His purposes. Where I am wrong, then discussing & debating will, like iron on iron, sharpen us all.

Blessings, Marilyn.

Hi shiloh357,

That`s true, yet as we mature in the Lord we will have understanding of God`s word that help those younger in the faith. That is why you post your comments to teach & show others what is truth.

I believe that I am a believer who is grounded in God's word and what you preach I definitely would want to stay away from.

I can count on one hand of those who I learn from on Worthy who are very good teachers and I just know instantly that it is safe teaching. The Holy Spirit guides me in this.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
