Now that Josh's past molestation of his sisters has come to light do you think the Duggars are a good Christian family are a bunch of hypocrites?  He claims to acknowledge his wrongdoing, but I've always heard "once a child molester, always a child molester".   

 We all have something. Or someone in our family who has something or has done something. If they were to make a show about anybody's family something bad someone did sometime somewhere would come to light. It was bond to happen when you put yourself out there for the world to see. We all have something.

It's true, it's not our place to judge or forgive Josh Duggar.  That job belongs to the Lord.  I don't like the show, I've always found it deathly boring and can't get through a full episode but I always thought of them as squeaky clean.  I don't judge the man but I do think it was covered up and I also believe it's being drug out now to discredit them.  Bottom line....if it hadn't been covered up the left wing hit men wouldn't have anything to go after.  That family needs to address this and TLC needs to reconsider having Josh on the show.  I don't think it can work anymore.

This situation was already in the public records and had been dealt with in court years before they were on a TV show.    I don't think they had an obligation to bring it up on their show.  It was not happening during the show, but was something that happened 13 years ago.   The Left is trying to make it appear that he was molesting girls while at the same time taping the show and heading up the Family Research Council, and that is factually incorrect.

 

Now, if this had not been disclosed to the FRC, then he did the right thing by resigning from that position.

My opinion is that a 14 year old manually penetrating his younger sisters goes way beyond "normal teen curiosity".  Yes, he was a "child", but he certainly knew it was wrong!  Victims of incest/molestation suffer inside for decades afterward.

That is not in dispute, Shy.    The issue is that he has already been brought to justice about this.   This isn't something that happened during the time they were taping the show.   At what point do we let him live his life and how long do we keep beating him up over this?

Everyone falls. They key is to get up again, seek forgiveness, and return to the Lord. What this man (boy) did is reprehensible; it casts a negative light on religion, but is not a reflection on Jesus Christ and Who He is. Those who hate our Lord will use this as an excuse to attack Christians in general, but we should in no way allow them to affect our own beliefs nor our relationship with Jesus Christ. GOD will use this as an opportunity to witness to those who believe that "religion" is the same as having a personal relationship with Him. That is what we need to focus on. Our relationship with Him, His mercy and His grace, and His desire to forgive everyone, if they will just seek Him.

   The family has never tried to cover it up.   The Progressive/Liberal vultures that dredged up this thing which happened 13 years ago, don't care one bit about the girls he molested.  

 

This story was highlighted by the tabloids because the Duggars are conservative Christians who had the unmitigated nerve  to speak out on issues regarding morality that the Left opposes and as is usually the case with the Left, if you oppose them, you deserve to be punished and they will look for any sin, anything from your past they can use to wreck and ruin your life.

 

And they have you joining in and piling on.   I bet we might be able find something in your life that you would not want paraded in front of the world and have the rest of us repeatedly and unmercifully condemn you over it, no matter how many times you have tried to make amends and no matter how many times you apologize.   How would that make you feel??

 

Lena Dunam a popular entertainer admitted to molesting her sister, and she is a LIberal hero.   Bill Clinton had multiple affairs.   Yet they are not vilified by the left.   The truth is that has nothing to do with victims of sexual immorality.   It has to do with silencing a Christian family, who while not lily white and perfect, are correct in their moral stances and are being punished unfairly for it.

That is one thing that troubles me as well.  He was NOT brought up before a juvenile court and he was not charged with anything.  His parents did their best to cover this up.  The man his dad brought him before has been convicted and imprisoned for child pornography.  I believe Josh Duggar can be forgiven by God, so long as he has repented, but I doubt the public is going to forget this.

That is not true.    There was no cover up.  That they didn't feel the need to announce it to the world doesn't mean there was a cover up.
