Ephesians 6:10

Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Then tells you to put on the armour.

How do we be strong in the Lord? By excersize the armour, as acting in righteousness,(breast plate of righteousness) keeping our faith up as in ( the shield of faith), speaking the word ( sword of the spirit) etc.

So is this how we be strong in the Lord?

Ephesians 6:10

Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Then tells you to put on the armour.

How do we be strong in the Lord? By excersize the armour, as acting in righteousness,(breast plate of righteousness) keeping our faith up as in ( the shield of faith), speaking the word ( sword of the spirit) etc.

So is this how we be strong in the Lord?

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart

And do not lean on your own understanding.

6In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He will make your paths straight.

      7Do not be wise in your own eyes;

Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

The full armor of God is necessary to combat our enemies (Satan and his angels). God has given me sight to see them. They are real. When I get close to them I can hear them. Your enemy is real and accuses you day and night. They are spirits of confusion and fear. God gives a Spirit of peace.

The Sword is the Word of God. That is your only weapon. The helmet is salvation. It is very important to understand John 3:16 and be SECURE in your salvation. One of their most common attacks is to try to trick you into thinking you blasphemed the Holy Ghost. If you believe in the Son of God, you never did. God's Word is always true, all the time. The breastplate is righteousness. We hope for His righteousness. We are with sin but He is righteous. His seed is in us and we can not sin willfully. The Gospel of Peace is on our feet. Remember - they are spirits of CONFUSION and FEAR (NOT peace - the peace of the Gospel lets us know we have been PAID FOR - we ARE HIS right now). The shield is our faith. And that goes back to proverbs 3:5. The enemy will constantly try to get you to think you have to understand everything. You don't. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will make your paths straight. Will you make your own paths straight? No, but the LORD will.

It is important to understand the Word of God and nothing else. We only need to understand what He has revealed. Not what He has not revealed. If His Word doesn't specifically say it - you simply don't need to know. He said all things will be revealed later. The Word of God is our Sword.

We will always be accused of not believing His Word.

Peace and grace to you in the Lord Jesus Christ

In Acts 1:4-5 the disciples were told to wait for the Promise of the Father, to be baptized with the Holy Spirit.  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me---

Much of our strength comes from God's word.  But it is the Holy Spirit Who provides the power to minister and do God's work on earth.  Before, Peter coward and denied Christ.  After, he preached a powerful bold sermon to the Jews at Pentecost, so that thousands were saved.

But scripture shows him being filled several times.  So it is sometimes necessary for us to ask God to refill us.

Taking the sword of the Spirit, the word of God;   praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with prayer and supplication for all the saints---

The Word and intercessory prayer for those on the front lines:  that God give them strength, power and wisdom; that He fill their mouths with the Gospel empowered by the Spirit, and that they be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves.  So I often pray for Christians who have come here that are in lands where Christians are persecuted such as India, Pakistan, Egypt and north Africa.  Prayer for the peace of Jerusalem, for the safety of Christians and Jews there.  It is good to pray the Scriptures back to the Lord, reminding Him of His character and promises as did Moses and others.  But we are probably only reminding ourselves which strengthens our own faith.

Much of this warfare is in prayer and intercession.

But it is also for the battles in our own minds as well as for witnessing when we are told in 2 Cor. 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;  casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

So is this how we be strong in the Lord?

The armour of God is definitely connected with being strong in the Lord.  But we should keep in mind that Paul speaks of "the power of His might" and being strong in that.  A soldier can have all the armour he needs but unless he has the strength to carry the armour and to wield his sword, it will not benefit him.

So Christians need God's strength and His strength is in Himself and within each one in whom He dwells.  Thus "God is our refuge AND STRENGTH".  So we must appropriate God's strength by faith and believe that the proper use of every component of the armour will give us victory over our spiritual enemies. The battle is constant and spiritual and waged within our hearts and minds. Our faith is our shield while God's Word is our sword, and soldiers win by going on the offensive.

Good reply's. So being strong in the Lord is something to do before hand to be ready when needed, rather than suddenly thinking you need it and trying at that moment to be strong in the Lord. That's what didn't click. Which does say that in Ephesians, to put your armour on to be ready. And of course spending time in His word with Him, and knowing it to be able to recite it.

Thanks.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
