Freedom is not free. It never has been and it never will be. Anyone that is in uniform now and was in the past will back me up. Just ask my husband who fought in Korea, or my dad who fought in WW11 or my grandfather who fought in WW1. Yet if you could ask my dad or grandfather who have now gone to be with the Lord they would tell you they would do it all over again. Two days after 911 my husband and I were sitting in a restaurant having breakfast. As I said he is a former Marine who fought in Korea. We live 30 north of the largest Marine base in the world. We were watching a Marine convoy pass and my husband said if they would let him go he would go in a heartbeat. I'm proud of that and the fighting spirit of our men and women now. Maybe it's time you said "thank you" too Steff.

Normally, I'm pretty much in agreement with Mr. Paul. He seems to be someone in Washington that sticks to his guns, which is the true standard to indicate that a persons career will never advance much past what they already are in that town. But that's not a bad thing, mind you. It's these type of people that are less worried about political ambition, and more inclined to speak their minds.

However, unlike much of his writings, this one, to me anyway, is filled chock-full of generalizations and overstuffed with the "if" word. When someone bases their writings on the "if" word, the arguments against such words are bound to be almost as impressive.

He mentions that we were allies with Saddam and Osama in the 80's and that much is true, but without expounding on the reasons gives the writing an open target to fire upon. He could have mentioned that we helped and supported Saddam because he was in a war against a sworn enemy of the US at the time; Iran. This was during a time just after Iran held Americans hostage for 444 days.

As for Osama, he was then part of what is now known as the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan. This group was not only the primary resistance group to the then Russian invasion of that country, but it was also the only group in Afghanistan to successfully resist the Taliban's take-over as the seat of power almost two decades later. Osama, as Mr. Paul neglects to point out, had jumped ship long ago and was, by then, supporting the Taliban's rise to power behind the scenes in the attempt to create an atmosphere more friendly to his band of castaways known as Al-Qaeda. Mr. Paul, in this case, has neglected to relate to us that after we helped Osama resist the Russian invasion (of which Osama was then not as powerful as he is today), Bin laden thanked us by pecking away at us in increasingly bloody attacks over the next decade and finally culminated his reign of terror on September 11th, 2001.

Mr. Paul then goes on to use the same worn out story of an old lady that was searched inappropriately while attempting to go through an airport security check point. While the incident was unfortunate and troubling to hear of, the situation was fixed and the nation has moved on. He does this while neglecting to relate to us the hundreds of thousands of travelers that pass through the very same TSA guarded gates across the nation without incident. The people that work for the TSA are no different than you or I. They didn't come from some Government farm, raised only to spy on your individuality with the sole intent of raping your freedoms. They are mothers, fathers, young old, men, women, students, retirees, and come from every area of the country. They are our neighbors, trying to make a living like the rest of us. Their one fault is that they are still human, and still subject to fault. I commend them for at least trying to help the cause by doing what they can to prevent another airborne attack. Mr. Paul seems to think that it would be a waste if we go another 20 years without a like attack. I'd say it would be an indication that they did exactly what they were trained to do. If no other attack is conducted through our airports, I would call that a resounding success! With all of this being said, I'm sure Mr. Paul has no heartburn with the security detail that guards his very existence at the Capitol building each day as he sits down on a Government owned computer to write the very opinions that condemns the very Government he spent so much time and energy in an election to be a part of!

Mr. Paul, normally, I support much of what comes from your desk, but I can't support this obviously one sided, forgetful memo. You forgot to mention many things here that would clear up some of your statements and show them in their true light. You have done a disservice to your good name. I don't know why you would fill a paper full of "if's", instead of the truth, which I have come to respect from you. Was it simply to raise questions? These questions are already public. Please go back to finding the answers. That's what we, as Americans, pay you to do in Washington.

t.

PS- Mr. Paul, will you vote to halt the automatic pay raise that you get each year by law as a Congressman to help with the deficit?

Thanks.

Honestly- I am shocked that these kind of "free thinking" opinions and unconventional insights are even being tolerated here at Worhty? In fact these blashphemous ideas and questions are bordering very close to "Conspiracy theories"... I thought that this kind of thinking was strictly forbidden here-?Someone should quickly censor this guy... (Oh- that's right he is an elected official in the US House of Representatives.) Well at least censor and shut down this awful thread! Seriously how is this kind of far fetched opinion edifying the Body of Christ?

George W. is such a good kind hearted man and this sort of nonsense does not put his administration in a very good light now does it?

(p.s. You are no fool- Thanks for sharing this speech Steff! :) I think that Rep. Ron Paul purposefully presented those question not to be vauge but in hope that some American patriots would take a moment to think and perhaps even answer some of these questions, rather than just buying into the insane War mongering, Nation building, International police force... These policies are already bankrupting our once great country!)

I know exactly what Mr. Paul was doing with this speech, thank you.

Normally, he's a bit more inteligent about it, though. This time, It looks like he was in a hurry and ran over to John Kerry's office and swiped the speech off his desk.

Rustyangel, I think you need to understand that many people who are against this war in Iraq, including me, have nothing against the soldiers who are serving in Iraq. I support our troops.

Alot of people need to dispel that:

1. If you are not republican you are a democrat

2. If you are against this war then you are for saddam hussein

and many ridiculous things i can't think of right now.

I'm sick of people telling me, go back to my country.....which is kind of weird since America is my country. I was born in good ol California and was raised in American culture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
