The peacemaker makes peace with Israel after the Russian War for 7 years. However prior to that the cunning person gathers the waring factions in Syria & Iraq & gets them to work together with him, using deceitful policies.

1. Syria & Iraq warring factions are brought together by this cunning person. There seems to be peace in the Middle East.

2. The Russian Federation etc come down to the mountains of Israel while the area is at `peace.` God deals with them on the mountains. Then this cunning person steps up & says we will make a peace treaty with Israel.

Is that clearer, as to what I believe? Marilyn.

Almost all conservative Bible scholars and commentators see Russia in "Gog and Magog".

and since Turkey is the Head of Islam, it does make sense.

If the control of Europe was in view, then Russia would control Europe sooner than Turkey. The Ottoman Empire won't be coming back, but the Russian Empire is being built as we speak.

For those of us who accept that Gog & Magog is only after the millennium, here is a map I came across to help visualize the size of the millennial kingdom area .. notice Libya (west), Ethiopia (south), Persia (Iran) (east), and Gomer & Togarmah and all his bands (north) .. hence the surrounding of the camp of the saints during Gog & Magog .. now these nations are "with" Gog & Magog when the attack occurs, they alone do not make up Gog & magog, but "are all of them with him" .. seeing Gog & Magog is gathered from the 4 quarters of the earth .. notice TURKEY during the millennium ? .. GONE .. so how is that explained since pre millennial Gog & Magog's TUKEY relies on post millennial TURKEY to STILL EXIST for to attack the millennial kingdom since so many scholars are saying that TURKEY is Meshech & Tubal ????? 

BUT as you can see, Meshech & Tubal (IF they were "Turkey" as many scholars are saying) IS GONE during the millennium .. so how does that work?

Very apt you saying this while I was preparing my above post Ezra .. you mentioned Turkey (Ottomans) being gone .. correct .. so, for all you others, where is Meshech & Tubal seeing so many say it is Turkey for the post millennium attack? .. Meshech & Tubal are not Turkey .. never forget this important truth .. ALL MEN are merely SPECULATING on WHO Gog & magog are .. NOBODY truly KNOWS .. not YET.

So NEVER teach SPECULATIONS as FACT when pushing this pre millennial Gog & Magog as this or that modern country when NO MAN truly KNOWS .. it is but SPECULATIONS OF MEN .. Gog & Magog do NOT yet exist in the people groups that will group during the millennium all of them being outside the kingdom area.

Gog & Magog.

The prophet Ezekiel reveals to us, by the Holy Spirit, a mighty confederacy of independent nations. He specifies their geographical position relative to the nation of Israel. On three occasions he locates them in the `uttermost or extreme parts of the north; (Ez. 38: 6 & 15,  39: 2)There is only one super power that occupies this position – the Russian federation. They are a powerful confederation of nations having the same philosophy & military ambitions.

Ezekiel enumerates these nations, delineating them by their ethnic origins. Professors of Etymology, such as Dr. Gesenius, Josephus & others have investigated the identity of these peoples, beginning with the ancient patriarchs of Genesis 10. Their migrations have been methodically traced through ancient records & archaeological discoveries to the present day. The Encyclopedia Britannica is also a source of confirmation.

The final areas of settlement, development & population growth have been established as primarily the Russian Republic. Located in an area stretching 5,500 miles, including Moscow, it embraces nearly two-thirds of the Soviet Peoples. Obviously it was the dominant force in the U.S.S.R. Allied with Russia, but as separate entities are the Slovac countries of Eastern Europe. Together with various Republics along Russia`s southern border.

World War 3

 

Ezekiel predicts that Russia will mount a massive military attack in the Middle East.

 

 President of Russia ... prepare yourself and all the companies that are assembled about you; and you be a commander for them ... you will think an evil thought, you will go into the Land of Israel, to take a spoil and a prey. (summary of Ezekiel 38:3-12)

 

Bible predictions are very meticulous and accurate. It is not the Soviet Dictator i.e. Gorbachev; but the President of the Russian Republic who is to assume command.

The Prophet Joel (2:1-20) also foretells this invasion. In terms meaningful to his contemporary audience, he graphically describes all the modern implements of a mechanised army in action. He depicts tanks, armoured carriers, guns, flame throwers and masses of planes.

Russia claims to want peace. However, it is of interest to note that the Russian word for "Peace" is "MEER". The same word means "The World". When they claim to want peace, are they in fact wanting the world? Russia's policy has always been world dominion. This is the core of their "New World Order"

 

The strategic advantage of involvement in the Middle East, and the economic wealth accruing from controlling the world distribution of crude oil has been a Soviet prime objective for years.

 

 

This was exposed by the Israeli army in 1982.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the State of Israel reports, inter alia:-

"During the operation "Peace for Galilee", as the Israeli forces advanced through Lebanon in July 1982, they made an amazing discovery. Around the Village of Saida, the largest secret military base in the world was uncovered. It consisted of miles of steel reinforced bunkers tunnelled out of the hillside. Inside was crammed massive quantities of Soviet made arms and ammuni­tion. It exceeded by far the highest previous intelligence esti­mates. I.D.F. units gathered 4170 tons (some 1,500 truckloads) of ammunition; hundreds of combat-vehicles; tanks and ar­moured carriers; thousands of weapons, artillery and rocket launchers, plus other sophisticated devices. These arms and stores were far in excess of P.L.O. requirements. Secret documents and maps found in the Com­mand Post clearly revealed that the Soviets planned invasion of the Middle East on the 4th August 1982. The I.D.F. averted this Soviet invasion by just a few weeks"

 

However, there is an appointed time predicted. Russia will certainly invade the Middle East. World War 3 will have commenced.

 

 

Time-slot for the Invasion

 

Daniel provides an indication of the time-slot in his vision:-

"When the Bear starts its move ... it has three ribs in its mouth". (Daniel 7:5)

Metaphorically this represents 3 nations who have not previously been incorporated within the Bear i.e. The Iron Curtain. These now join this move into the Middle East. Ezekiel, in his predicted military confederacy, records exactly three such countries. They precisely conform to the prerequisites.

 

"Persia (Iran), Ethiopia and Libya" (Ezekiel 38:5)

im not ignoring you but I do not believe the only Gog and Magog battle is after the Millenium so I'm basically moving on. No need to discuss this with you because we have no common ground here.
