Neither is santa....but santas often turned into one.... as far as halloween is concerned, I cant think of any way to suggest its not a horrible holiday to celebrate.candy hater! The legend of santa may have startd with him but I imagine ol saint Nick is rolling in his grave over what Santa has turned into. There's nothing saintly about Santa. I don't think he's "satan" but there's nothing christian about Santa and is used by Satan as a distraction from the true meaning of Christmas.I think your missing the point. In context of the conversation the claim that Santa = Satan is what is being addressed. So Lady Kay is correct. That he bears no resemblance these days because of the commercialism makes no difference to anything Its not about giving or getting candy, and theres nothing holy about it. We cant say "halloween is what we make of it" because what we make of it, is our kids dressing up as demonic figures from mythology, going house to house demanding candy (hmmmm this sounds like the whole santa thing) only, instead of relying on being good getting them their candy-they rely on a threat.Of course we can say it is about getting candy for the kids. If it is about dressing up as demonic figures then you better explain people who dress up as say wierd al. Or perhaps people who dress up as a princess. Sounds real demonic! Then please don't use your indoor plumbing or drive a car because you are doing as the 'world' is doing and making excuses for it. Of all the ridiculous arguments in this thread, this is the worst. And it's hypocritical to pick and choose what you take from Scripture and what you reject. Morning GloryDriving a car or using your plumbing has nothing spiritual involved.
