The US isn't responsible for Kenya's poverty, so we shouldn't feel ashamed for being more prosperous than that country.  If Kenya had been a Judeo-Christian society like the US was at its peak, they wouldn't be so impoverished.

My advice, the ladies that are concerned about bad renters should ask the church to get involved to help them find good, trustworthy renters in the congregation, or sell the home.

I have a very dear friend from Kenya (now living in Italy with her precious husband).  I assure you that she is very much a Christian and is quite competent and capable.  Her familial origins have nothing to do with her faith and her current prosperity, I assure you!  And we shouldn't be ashamed of prosperity (in whichever form it may come about), but should give to others as God has generously given to us!

It doesn't matter how she lives her life, her country (her government) has made and continues to make poor decisions that perpetuate their poverty.  Anecdotes won't change the reality of that.

as it is written "if anyone had 2 houses, let him sell one to meet the needs of others"

but then,  who can read or hear ??

and then again,  for those with ears to hear during this time of famine of hearing ,

"wherever your treasure is, that IS where your heart is also." ....

Where is that written (red)?  Karl Marx's and Friedrich Engel's Communist Manifesto?

Strange as it sounds it maybe legitimate... We all think the grass is greener on the other side...but let's look at what they have. They have extra houses. That they're not living in. Houses, as I'm sure you know are a big responsibility-you have to pay for upkeep, utilities etc. And if they're not paid off, the mortgage on them. Now if your renting then they're a source of income unless you have bad renters who are tearing them up. Then you got to sink money into them. And then if you go from rentors to none, well they just lost a source of income, which tightens their budget. And the housing market isn't the best right now. So they have empty houses, which are in essence losing money-that they can't sell, and they may not be able to afford without renters. Those rentals could actually cause them to lose the house they do live in. I know several people whom use rental properties as a way to generate income... What we see as excessive might be the way they pay their mortgage.

So I understand where your coming from, but sometimes it helps to try and understand. Those houses may be a burden, a very large one. II would suggest 2 things, first pray for them-second be thankful that you don't have that particular burden. We each have our own struggles, we should trusf God to help us through ours, and let Him help others through theres. Sometimes its good not to have as much as others.

I hope I can explain this in a way so that it does not sound like I am complaining. First off I am very thankful  for what I have and thankful for my little apartment. I had a house and lost it and since then I have this fear of ending up homeless( long story)  I attend a lady's only Sunday School class on Sunday morning. We share our concerns with each other from time to time. Today these two women  were talking about how they both have an extra house that they are burden with. They do not know what to do with the houses rather to rent them or sell them. They complain that they have gotten bad renters and are afraid to rent so the houses are standing empty and they do not know what to do with them. They asked for prayer about what to do with their houses. I could not help myself but when we were praying, all I could think about is it feels so unfair that I worry about becoming homeless, and these two women feel that having an extra house is a burden that they need prayer for.

Hi Lady Kay, it sounds like it's time to ask God about these houses.

He knows your needs and your heart's desire.

Then plead your case to God.

Then go and plead your case to these two homeowners.

Maybe they are just waiting for someone like you to come along and help them.

Maybe they are praying to God to send to them someone like you.

Try it and see what happens.

God will always do what is best for us.

Many people see their blessings as burdens.  Children are a blessing from the Lord, but many see their children as burdens.

And what may seem to each of us to be a burden, may actually be a blessing.

I hate it when parents treat their children like that.

I thought about this. But I feel that I can not take on a whole house right now. My apartment is fine for me.  God will take care of it if it is his will.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
