Correct..... our salvation is not predetermined. There is no future that has been written ahead of time, but God has the power to make things happen in the future just as he desires because there is nothing powerful enough to stop him.

God did not know who will be saved and who won't (he may know by now.... after all we've had plenty of time). He did not know before we were born if we would choose him or not.

Maybe I'm being petty lol but I don't view God as not knowing something.

God knows all that is possible to know.....things that nobody else or nothing else could  know....

But maybe there are some things that are just not possible to know.

Psalm 147:4 He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

Job 42:“I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

Psalm 44:21 Would not God search this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.

Psalm 139:Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

It is generally accepted that God is omniscient. Although there is one theology which believes that once God finished creating, including putting time in motion, He was no longer able to know all. Or something like that. I do not remember what this theology is called, but I believe it can not be proved by scripture.   Scripture shows God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.

You will find very strange what someone said; and he made me think, that stereotyping does not work for the better all the time,

God has not call anyone to descrive him and tell him what he is and who he is and what he can do or he can not do, cause there some things and there some rules that they need to be observed, because here is not heaven, it is the earth, and every one gets his place including the Devil, and also includes man of all backgrounds and walks of life, you got it, or I need to explain it, and I say that in love and kindness.

I think we are incapable of understanding God, and Shiloh addressed Genesis 6:6, 3 posts above.

I think people have trouble understanding God for their paradigm is simply not right.

Yes and the ESV from which I quoted, which is a formal translation uses the word "fixed."   The same Greek is synonymous with establish, set, etc.   Fixed is as good as any other word  and it fits the context just as much as "placed."    The point here in this passage is not that the future isn't fixed or established.   The point is that God has the prerogative not to reveal that date to us.   God has revealed as much as we need to know.   The context clearly agrees with the use of the word "fixed."

Aah...I am glad we agree now that the point is that God has the prerogative not to reveal the date to us. (I have underlined your statement above.) It means the text does not tell us whether the date has or has not been fixed. There is no deciding whether the NJKV or ESV translation is superior. So you still do not have a text that says that date IS fixed...

I grew up in a Christian home, and left the faith as an adult, about 4 years ago, and was an atheist for a little while. I believe that God came for me, through the Holy Spirit. I suppose one could say it required me to cooperate with His grace, so maybe God extends His love, but we have to accept His gracious gift.

Welcome back to the truth, sister! "Cooperating with his grace" seems to me a good way to describe how it works.

Yes, the text I provided does state that the date is fixed.  I agree that the text also states it is God's prerogative not to reveal that fixed date to us.   That you are not wanting to admit the obvious meaning the text shows that you really have a problem with being honest about what the text says.   God always operates in the fullness of time.   The future is not up in the air and God is not walking in the same ignorance of the matter that we are.  You simply need to believe the Bible instead of trying to make the Bible fit your sloppy theology.
