I'm soooo grateful for your kindness in taking the time to share your thoughts with me, it's helped me so much. I'm thinking that I need to get more into God's word on a daily basis, as that helps me to stay focused on Him and not on the world. :)

I constantly wrestle with this sis. But in letting go to the Lord, all we can do is just trust Him. Yeah, it can be scary at times; we're used to trying to "take care of it" ourselves. It's something we sometimes have to repeatedly re-learn. But as long as we're here, the Lord is faithful in His care of us. It's not a sin to have concerns Deidre; it's what we do with those concerns. And it is all to easy to worry about things in this world, as we are indeed human. But like anything, as we bring the Lord more and more of our worries, concerns and fears, we trust Him more and more.

I hope this help you sis. :)

Yes, it definitely helps me! I think this comes from a place back in my childhood when I worried a lot about different things, and never grew out of it lol I need to let this go, and let God handle everything. This doesn't mean we do nothing to progress, but it means we trust God with the progress. :) Thanks for your words!

I believe you have to come to a point in life when no matter what you physically or mentally  do nothing can the change a situation before you finally see that  all your struggles are of no effect.  That is when you finally learn that your  only option is to leave it in God 's hands and subject to His perfect will, and trust Him to work it all out.

we as humans are taught from the moment we are born that if we cry we are fed. If we want something we reach for it and take it. We control our grades, our car, our choice, our everything....until we come across something that is totally out of our control and we are left helpless. But once we realize that all things work best if we ask for God to take and direct our lives, we struggle to succeed on our own trying to control everything we can even people.

the old gospel song "trust and obey for there is no other way ..." Really says it all. Trusting God in everything and setting aside our worries and desires for His will for us is not something we always find easy...what if He chooses not to do what I want. Funny, but that may not be what is best and in the end we are not happy and if we are it may be temporary. We are a determined, and obstinate creation wanting our will not God's. Yet He waits for us to ask Him to work things out for our best if we only trust Him in all things.

This resonates so much with me on this topic, you don't even know...thank you! Yes, we are very much used to controlling everything, and in some weird way...worrying gives me a sense of control. :b:

That's interesting.

You don't believe that your worrying is without basis then?

I believe you will find out what basic cause there is to your incessant concerns, and I don't believe for one moment that it is just life's general concerns which we all deal with, and I think you sense that, but probably don't want to "go there" for now.

From experience I can happily say that the Lord is working closely with you, weighing up each day what you can handle and helping you to calm with experience and self knowledge. I love the fact that you can see you have a need to control. Obviously you will work that one out in time.

You have a real blessing in your life. Imagine being able to say the right word to someone in the same predicament? An authentic help.

You just have to know that God has a plan. We can choose whether we take the path that he has laid out for us, because Jesus gave us free will, but if you trust in God, he will take care of everything. There's a little saying that I absolutely love. I don't know who originally said it, but I really like it:

"Want to hear God laugh? Tell him your plans."

I like that saying. To me, that means that God already has his plans laid out for you, and he makes no mistakes. You may be tested and go through hardships here on Earth, but it's all part of God's plan and if you believe and trust in him, you will make it through. God will take care of you. He knows what's best for you and that's exactly what he'll give you. He will give you what you need.

Last year, I had what I would consider to be an experience with the Holy Spirit, and it changed my life. I had left the faith, and was an atheist during that time, and it changed everything. I became born again, and it has been something that I never experienced when I was a Christian before I left the faith a few years ago. I pray, and have a deep relationship with Jesus now, but sometimes...I still focus on stupid things, things of this world. In prayer one night, I felt God's still small voice say...''you are human, this is why you sometimes focus on the world.'' It gave me comfort, but I don't want to focus on the world, I want to stay focused on Jesus always. It was seemingly easy right after my experience last year, and every day I'm grateful for my new found faith, but what I mean by being caught up in the world...is worry. I still worry about things that I shouldn't worry about, for God is in control. I know He is, but then, why do I worry? I worry over losing my job, or not being a good enough wife for my fiance, etc...these types of things. Can anyone relate? I pray about this, and ask for Jesus' strength to overcome worry, but it seems to be something that is my nemesis. Do any of you wrestle with worry, and how do you let it go, and let God take it from you?

Hi Deidre,

Are you kidding?  We all worry over things.  Sometimes one at a time, and then there are the times things come in herds.... just one thing after another.

Worry is not a sin but as long as we are in these human bodies and minds worry, fear and other things will happen.  When that happens remember what the Bible says, "Cast your fears on Him for He cares for you" I believe fear and worry go together.  But the Bible also reminds us that Perfect loves casts out fear.

It's very easy to talk about what to do when these come at us but it's a whole different ballgame to live it.  We just have to be totally honest about it and tell the Lord exactly how we feel.  Be gut level honest.  I heard it said that God meets us right where we are at but He refuses to leave us there.

So go boldly to the Throne and know that He will always be ready to meet you right where your at.

Once we focus on pleasing the Lord, everything else follows and somehow always works out. :)

Trust Him.

Yes, I don't think it's without basis. I'm not a controlling person of others, but like to control the outcomes in my own life, coupled with I only recently returned to Christianty last fall, maybe I still cling to myself too much, still. That could be. I don't know, there are days when I surrender everything I have and everything I think about to the Lord, and other days...I worry...and analyze...and overthink. Before I left Christianity a few years ago, I didn't have a problem surrendering, and worrying less. I just long for those days again. :b:

Agree 100000% :D Yes, this always works...and I'm so in love with Jesus, I guess there are times I feel shame for 'letting' myself worry. But that still small voice comes to me in prayer ...it's Jesus saying 'you are human.' I must remember that not as an excuse, but that there are times when we may strive to follow Christ with all we have, and some days fall short. I was discussing this with a Christian offline friend and she said that Jesus knows our weaknesses, and to continue to work on giving them all to Him. He knows what they are, but He wants us to realize what they are, too...so we don't let them distract us from Him.

Does that show that you don't trust yourself to manage things for your own benefit? What would have caused you to feel untrustworthy? Don't tell me, just a thought.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
