Maybe that's just it...my world has changed, has forever changed, and I'm forever grateful. But, the world looks at my change and doesn't understand it. It can make you feel off, or the odd person out, but we are always accepted in Jesus. I appreciate your beautiful post, here. Thank you :)

You are very welcome sister!

Please allow me to add to what I said previously for I have 12 minutes of free time!

As I grew in Christ, a strange thing began to happen in me.  I was changing.  As I felt new power flow in which was Christ in me, I noticed that my intrests began to change.  I lost intrest in selfish things and gained intrest in my fellows.  Life became less about my little plans and designs and more about seeing what I could bring to life.  I began to throw parties at my home periodically and invite people over for fellowship at my expense.  This meant that I would need to work harder and longer hours to cover costs.  I also took an interest in personal ministry unto those less fortunate.  I did not forget where I cane from and set out studying the scriptures to better understand how to help people in need.

My 12 minutes are over!  Love to all thise in Christ!!!

The 'me, me'me' mentality on social media you speak of, is, I would say, a sign of the times.

Jesus said people would become lovers of themselves and really we are seeing this at an unprecedented level, with endless selfies, boasting, 'braggies', self-important videos etc.

It has been evident that a side effect of all of this is a rise in depression. People see other peoples Facebook etc., which only shows the best bits of their life, with a huge helping of exaggeration, filtered photos and 'hey my life is so great' attitude, then compare the reality of their life to a false image. They then get depressed as the feel they are missing out, so in turn create their own false image, and so the cycle continues.

I work in fitness, and the amount of false imagery and misleading advice I see on fb shocks me. Guys and girls who say they look like they do due to ‘clean eating’ and ‘training hard’, all jacked up on steroids in reality. Lies that play on others fears (fears of not looking good enough).

The reason you have lost interest, is because your sprit knows it is full of falsehood and lies. And Jesus said you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

I have been through many "phases" since becomming a Christian in 2008.

Consider the following;

1Jo 2:15¶Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The things of the world are described 3 fold.

The lust of the eyes for the eye is never full of seeing and many things are pleasing to the sight.  Magazine after magazine full of color photos sell billions of copies.  Social media has an endless stream as well.

Lust of the flesh for the body itself has appetites that crave to be filled to the fullest that lead to nothingness.

But none are equal to the pride of life!  One cannot go anywhere in this world that I have seen where there isn't an opportunity to seek to be somebody to everyone or anyone else.  From things like Nobel Peace Prizes to preaching from the pulpit people are vying for position, prestige and renown.  One need not even leave their own home to be plagued by this one.

So what then shall we love that we not suffer from boredom of a stagnant life?  Do you believe God is bored?

I have found an answer to this question but I do not have time to answer now.  Maybe some of my fellow brothers and sisters can share their own experience in learning how to understand what God loves so that you will never get bored or run out of fascinating things to do in this life while we are in the world that will one day be destroyed.

Amen. You have in Revelations 18:4, God is telling His people to come out of Babylon. Everyone has an interpretation on what Babylon is. But I believe no matter how you interpret it, it's always been a worldly spirit of confusion since Babel. Some hobbies in life can become idolatry for some if they aren't careful. Somebody mentioned the passage about men would become boasters of self, worshippers of themselves. I think that is so evident throughout entertainment. We worship teams, athletes, movie stars, and rock stars ect. It's almost a joke that reality T.V. is as popular as it is. Isn't it ironic that "American IDOL" has been the number one watched program for so many years. It's amazing how blatantly the Almighty gets mocked in the most subtle of ways. I had an experience that confirmed true what I suppressed in truth many years.  And in that experience, I realized that none of this stuff that this world throws at you matters. The only thing that truly matters is a relationship with God through His Son Yeshua. That is where the true blessing and entertainment is at.

I think this is a very reflective post of yours, spiderman. It is true, too...sometimes we need others to help us on our journey.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

(Matthew 25)

Just wanted you to know that it is obvious to me that you have given and given to people who were like cannibals devouring your time, energy, and resources.  Meaning, you tried to be kind and people were one-sided.  You didn't get back.

Luke 14:4

Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you."

Jesus said if people repay you, you shall have no reward from your Father in Heaven.  You have freely given and have been hurt and so great shall be your reward in Heaven.  But you have established good boundaries as well and you have done His will.  What you did for the least of His people you did for Him.  You would make a good nun :)

I am yet learning.

I sat with 2 women and a man 5 weeks ago.  One of the women was chastising me for behavior she felt was wrong of me infront of the others.  The other woman sat silently listening.  The mam joined in on the correction.  Once they understood that I was failing to agree with their rantings they rose up and stormed off angrily.  They were not necessarily wrong in what they said about me but I couldn't receive the correction for their words were not with gtace nor seasoned with salt.  I couldn't bear the attack on my character.

Upon leaving the Spirit spoke to me and sent me to Romans 2 & 3 to reveal unto me what went wrong with the whole thing.  The man fit the Jew in this case where he wished to be my instructor but was not teaching himself.  The woman fit the self-righteous one who condemned herself in condemning me for she was actively doing the thing that she was condemning me for though she knew it not.  The third woman was a great prize unto God for though she wanted to speak out against what she perceived to be evil she waited and inquired after whether what she perceived had happened and what her place was in it.

Being one who is still learning to properly perceive that which is going on outside of me, I am cautious to condemn what I see for I may be condemning myself in the process.

When I see something disturbing to me, I am reminded to search myself for why I am disturbed.  If a person is dressed in a way that I consider inappropriate because it isn't what I consider modest because it reveals more of their flesh than I am comfortable with, it may just be because it is revealing that I am naked before God instead of truly being clothed with the righteousness of Christ.

I am therefore careful not to condemn or condone anything too quickly for I am still learning how to properly perceive that which my eyes see.

Thank you for sharing.

So much this!!

I was discussing this very thing about FB today, with a coworker and what a facade it all appears to be. And it IS leading people into depression, because eventually these people have to return to their real lives, and when they do, it isn't so wonderful, and instead of working on whatever needs to be fixed they take more selfies and go right back onto FB, etc looking for the next 'fix.' But, it's the wrong fix. Jesus is all one needs to heal a broken heart, and a lost life.

This is such a wonderful post, too. Wow, you all have such great insights in here!

I don't mind correction from someone I respect in the faith. But, people who attempt to 'correct' me, and don't remotely live a life following Jesus...in one ear, out the other. I strive daily to follow Christ. It's about progress not perfection. Too many Christians out there preaching and not walking their own talk. Sorry to say.

That was me for a long time and if I begin to rest upon my laurels it still can be.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
