I hope I didn't do damage. tigger, if you smoked that long it is likely that you have done some damage to your lungs (depending on how much you smoked.), but as others have said it's never too late to quit. My friend stopped coffee, (she was a huge coffee drinker) and became very ill, another friend drank tons of Pepsi, stopped that and she too became ill. Just hang in that sister, you going to do fine!
