What did God create everything out of?

Absolutely nothing.  God spoke everything into existence.  Creation ex nihilo - an imperative tenet for Christians.

 

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. - Psalm 33:6

Would not His breath be a thing?

would non-visible things still be considered things?

God is not human does have breath. God spoke and everything came into existence.  God created out of nothing.  Only God can truly create.

The word breathed is simply an anthropomorphism.   It is describing something God did using descriptive terms we can understand and have a point of reference for.   God is a spirit.  He does not have lungs or a cardiovascular system, so he doesn't "breathe"  they way think of it.  God imparted a spirit in Adam and that is all that is meant by it.

We can't try to hold God to the physical laws we are bound by.  He can create out of nothing; man cannot.

Scripture clearly teaches that God has a heart (Gen. 6:6; 8:21); so we can assume His heart pumps blood!, He also has hands and fingers (Exod. 31:18; Psalms 8:3-6; Rev. 5:1, 6-7); Nostrils, (Ps. 18:8); mouth (Num. 12:8); lips and tongue (Isa. 30:27; feet (Ezek. 1:27; Exodus 24:10); eyes, eyelids, sight (Ps. 11:4; 18:24; 33:18); voice (Ps. 29; Rev. 10:3-4; Gen. 1); breath so He does breathe (Gen. 2:70); ears (Ps. 18:6); head, hair, face, arms (Dan. 7:9-14; 10:5-19; Rev. 5:1; loins (Ezek. 1:26:28; 8:1-4); bodily presence (Gen. 3:8; 18:1-22; Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7; Exodus 24:10-11); and many other bodily parts as required by Him to be a person with a body.

Your denying all these Scriptures or twisting them to mean nothing. The only difference between a spirit and a mortal being is substance.

God isn't made of flesh and blood - ergo he does not breath like you and I do.  God is a spirit.  David used figurative language here.  God gave "spirit" to Adam - making him a "living soul".  Animals are not living souls.  God did not "breathe" or give this to animals.

As far as the question:

• visible things - a euphemism for created substances - or something
• invisible things - a euphemism for nothing
