John 14:15-23, NLT

15 If you love me, obey my commandments.

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.

The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him.

But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans — I will come to you (as the Holy Spirit).

19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.

20 When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father,

and you are in me, and I am in you.

21 Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me.

And because they love me, my Father will love them.

And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.

22 Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him,

“Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?”

23 Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them,

and we will come and make our home with each of them.

24 Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember,

my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.”

The above passage teaches us all of the following truths …

2 wonderful blessings are available to you (v.16)

the Holy Spirit to be given to you

the Holy Spirit to never leave you

2 conditions for the Father to give you the blessings above (v.15)

loving Jesus

obeying Jesus’ commandments

The KEY to the whole passage is the very first verse (v.15).

3 conditions for Jesus loving you and revealing Himself to you (v.21)

accepting Jesus’ commandments

obeying Jesus’ commandments

loving Jesus

2 conditions for the Father to love you (v.21, v.23)

loving Jesus

doing what Jesus says

1 condition for doing what Jesus says (v.23)

loving Jesus

2 conditions for the Trinity to live inside of you (v.23)

loving Jesus

doing what Jesus says

I've been saying for years: "If you have One, you have all Three."

John 15:10, NLT

10 “When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love,

just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.”

If you do not obey Jesus’ commandments, you do not remain in Jesus’ love.

If you do not remain in Jesus’ love, does the Holy Spirit remain in you?

If you do not obey Jesus’ commandments, does the Holy Spirit remain in you?

Those who know and love Jesus obey His commandments …

1 John 2:3-5, NLT

And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments.

If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments,

that person is a liar and is not living in the truth.

But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him.

That is how we know we are living in him.

Blessings Zach

I have shared many times that for me personally, the one WORD that stands out to me in the entire Bible is "IF",,,,,your very first quote of that single verse of Scripture is the most important thing that Jesus asks us,,,,,"IF" you LOVE ME......& IF indeed,we do.....that is all it takes

FOR....forgiveness,repentance,acceptance,renewal,re-birth,& the INDWELLING.,obedience.......Gods Grace.....IF,you love HIM                    Love,Kwik

Blessings...

It is that simple Brother & Sister but Zachs question is very complex, perhaps because he equates the Indwelling with  having access to the Power in Whom we are Indwelled by,Holy Spirit........Yes,by Faith in the knowledge of WHO Jesus is,accepting Him by FAITH....we are Saved by the Grace of God and Jesus comes to live in us,His Holy Spirit,we are "Indwelled"......it is that simple!

Zach is talking about walking in Spirit & in Truth,by the Power of the Holy Spirit....I know Saved,Born Again Christians who are certainly Indwelled & yet they have not completely surrendered their flesh with is the biggest hindrance to walking in Spirit,Faith indeed without works is dead..........yet,"IF" we LOVE HIM......then submission is not very difficult.......not everyone can even hear Gods Still Small Voice beckoning to them from within themselves, they are not forsaking something in the heart ....I thinbk Zachs OP is a loaded question......it can confuse many people into believing it is something they must do(works) to Receive Jesus Indweling when the Baptism of the Holy Spirit comes with complete surrender to Jesus Lordship......when you are on your Knees asking"I need you Jesus, forgive me & be my Lord & Savior"......even the demons "believe" but FAITH is alive with Love in the earnest heart                                                                                           With love-in Christ,Kwik

That's correct.  If it depended on the degree of devotion and obedience, the situation would fluctuate like the temperature in some locations -- almost hourly. Misunderstandings about this important matter are generally because of an incorrect understanding of salvation.

I know by fact that by belief in Jesus and asking Him to come into your life is salvation ... I am experiencing everyday of my life!
Rom 8:16
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
KJV

If a person doesn't have this witness then they need to examine themselves to see if they are of the faith...  Love, Steven

the Baptism with the Holy Spirit comes with complete surrender to Jesus Lordship

This certainly does help tremendously ... for receiving this special baptism of anointing.

However, often Jesus gives this baptism for a special ministry that He has for a person,

and the complete surrender part is dealt with later (that's the Holy Spirit's job).

The "special ministry" may even be something as seemingly-insignificant

as being a closeted prayer warrior or intercessor.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
