No one eventually ceases to exist. And every religion understands this fundamental truth.

You are ascribing to created man an attribute that belongs only to God. 15  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16  Who only hath immortality......

I don't understand, does this mean heirs of eternal life do not have immortality?

...nevermind.

Of course they do...at the second coming. Then the question needs to be asked...who are the heirs?  Those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book correct? Anyone else?

Eternal life is often mistaken for immortality. The two are not the same.

Immortality is a physical kind of life that has to do with a superhuman body impervious to age, death, and putrefaction.

Eternal life, on the other hand, isn't a physical kind of life; it's a spirit kind of life; which is why it's possible for people to obtain eternal life before they obtain immortality.

For example: Christ had eternal life when he was here (John 5:26, 1John 1:1-2) but according to Rom 6:9 and Rev 1:18, he didn't obtain immortality till he rose from the dead.

Likewise Christ's believing followers have eternal life while they're here (John 5:24, John 3:36, John 6:47) but according to Rom 8:23-25 and 1Cor 15:51-53, they won't obtain immortality until their resurrections.

It's commonly construed that people in hell have eternal life because they will be there forever. But no, they're not in hell with eternal life, they're in hell with human life, which is a created kind of life that had its beginning in the book of Genesis. Eternal life isn't a created kind of life; it's a divine kind of life that always was, always is, and always will be. People with eternal life don't go to hell. (John 5:24, John 10:27-28)
