Leviticus, 1 Corinthians, and numerous other books raise the issue of immoral acts and homosexuality depending on what? You see...I have come to a question of what the Bible says. Honestly, I will say that I believe it to be wrong, but my opinion need not matter. My question comes down to when the Bible regards "homosexuality," is the greek/hebrew word directly refering to "homosexuality," or does it merely mean to be quote unquote "soft?" Is there anyone online who can honestly say they have the background to answer this question? Furthermore, can I get any other scripture on where the Bible states that it is wrong? This is strictly scriptural. I do not want theology. Thank you.

God clearly defines marriage as one man and one woman for life.

Any sexual contact outside of one man and one woman who are in a covenant marriage relationship with each other and God is strictly forbidden.

I fully agree with you. When I posted this, I was having trouble in a debate. You see I understand the truth of God, but I need to know how to back it up. I have scripture. Others push me to go deeper. I know the will of the Lord on this issue. I was just hoping that I could get more support and evidence for my argument for future purposes.

I'm afraid I do not understand your question. If the Bible says it, then in a Bible-based argument, that ought to clear up any debate. If the discussion is not Bible-based, then no amount of Scripture quoting will do any good at all.

Is this something a Strong's Concordance would help with?

Hi icd,

In leviticus, it really doesnt mention the word homosexual, however, here is what it does say:

20:13) 'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

What part of this needs clearing up? As Dime has brought up though, any sex outside of marriage is sin. Now marriage is defined as that between a man and a woman.

I personally find that debates such as those on homosexuality are worthless, for they dont seem to go anywhere. You find people trying to justify their actions or beliefs through reasoning and not through the scriptures.

The scriptures clearly point out what constitutes marriage. Any sexual conduct outside of the marriage bed is just plain wrong and there is no justification for ones actions. Try not limiting your debate with those who try and justify homosexuality to just that, and you will have success in your points you bring to the table..

In Jesus

Likewise,

-----------------------------------------------------

Romans 1:20-32:

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,

30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;

32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

---------------------------------------

Mix this with what Kevin quoted, and there's no room for all this "soft" interpretation those compromisers are trying to promote.

Here are some other scriptures that indicate homosexuality is wrong.

Homosexuality

What the Bible says from Old Testament to New Testament?

Including the battle of the mind.

Before we can look at this topic I think it is important to understand some definitions of words that are associated with homosexuality.

Definitions According to Webster

Hi. Here's a reply to answer the original question. This June I'll be graduating from the University of Nottingham, UK with a B.A. Honours Degree in Theology. As part of my course I did a 12000 word dissertation on 'How can Christian Theological Thought Support Homosexuals Today?'. The following information I have copied from this dissertation.

Leviticus 18.22 and 20.13.

Leviticus 18.22 and 20.13 say a man lying with another man as with a woman is an abomination. Truluck noted there is no hint of homosexuality or sexuality implied in these verses. Here

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
