Okay here is what I have to say.   When a question post is posted. For example: Someone post the topic "Do You Like Christmas Trees".  And lets say the first person to reply says "No I do not like Christmas trees and this is the reason why........"  So the next person to respond should just state why they do or do not like Christmas trees. They should not tell the person who posted before them that they are wrong or debate the answer they have given. They should just post their answer and their reason for giving it if they wish to give a reason. This is the way I see post that are  asking a clear question about how someone feels about something should be reply too.

It is a different post then a post that is up for debate. For example: A debate post would be something like "Christmas Trees Are Evil" then the poster goes on to state why they think Christmas trees are evil. This poster is not asking you what you think nor are they asking you a question. They are posting a topic that they want to start a debate about. In such cases it is right to try to convince the other person that they are wrong. (good luck with that by the way) Or show them that you support their view point.

So anyway, this is the way I see things should be. I do not know if you want to call them rules so much as maybe guidelines or posting advice.

And no this post is not about Christmas trees.

I think those are some good guidelines for civil discussions on open forums like this.

Still, there's a part of me that doubts people are going to change their behaviors much

even if they do see that some fault lays within themselves. There are a lot of people that

come and post here because they love to find fault, point fingers, argue and sow discord.

It's like it's in their blood... though it seems rather un-Christ like to me. They inevitably

end up using a whole lot of logic-fallacies and bash whole groups of people in the process

even condemning (judging) those peoples as un-Christian, themselves. So the point is that

they don't even argue their points fairly.

I'm not sure why they're like this but they definitely easy to spot... you'll find them in all types

of threads just itching for an argument. They don't seem to see the distinctions that you've made

about some threads are for simple discussion and some are for debates... they just love the "rush"

that they get from arguing. imho.

I think we have good rules and need to stick to them not add to them.

I think the intent here by LadyKay is to say that one cannot or should not respond to questions by specifically addressing other posters. Whether to agree or to disagree that is. That's the way I interpreted it.

I don't think this kind of "thought police" is what the terms of service is for... My 2 cents.

God bless,

Thanks Brother

I still don't get it,maybe I'm just lacking comprehension today,I dunno   I think the more "personal" one can get here by "specifically addressing" one another or being clear when speaking "in general" ,the BETTER    This is a Christian Ministry,we are Brothers & Sisters   If folks could just get that "social media networking " out of their heads & begin relating to one another more intimately then we will see a difference in the Threads & the way people post

God Bless us all and this Ministry,Glory To God!                                 With love-in Christ,Kwik

Oh Lady I can not see that happening on Worthy. Some people like to debate. They can not just post their answer once because they feel that they are right. It is a prideful thing.

Well I just thought I would throw it out there and see what happens. I belong to other message forms and this sort of thing does not seem to be a problem. And they are not a Christian form like this one is. You can make a post asking everyone what is their favorite movie and people will post an answer back without anyone getting on their case about it. Or debating them about why they should not like their favorite movie ect ect...... But if that is not the case here I will just accept it and know what I am going to be getting into when I give my answer to a topic question.  Defend my reasoning for liking Christmas trees and why everyone who does not like them is wrong! By gaily!

I think you had a great plan in place. But since Worthy is a Christian message board you will see reasons why a particular movie or television show should not be watched. And that is ok but they should post their concern once possibly with Scripture and then not go on and on and on. . Those on a secular message board do not care

I agree. If someone posts a question asking for opinions, than I feel that it is not appropriate for others to debate someone's opinion. I someone disagrees with another's opinion, than that person should simply give their own opinion on the original question and not someone else's opinion. After all it is just an opinion and not a statement of perceived facts. Very frustrating!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
