The Active Shooter program kicked in place and that notified not only the law enforcement but all students also. That may be where the article got that information. It's my understanding that Kane started tweeting about gun control as the news came out.... I thought that was kind of telling that he didn't bother to really read any of the news articles. Actually the term "active shooter" is a generic term that covers all attacks that actively engage in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. All active shooter training (or any good active shooter training) does not limit the responses to just guns. There is nothing nefarious here, once you know the meaning of the phrase. They don't need to change the link because the phrase "active shooter" refers to more than just someone with a gun.
