Human knowledge, apart from God, is flawed. The Bible also refers to it as worthless because it isn’t tempered by love (1 Corinthians 13:2). The knowledge man possesses tends to make one proud. “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up” (1 Corinthians 8:1). Therefore, the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, without seeking God, is foolishness. “Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom . . . but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief” (Ecclesiastes 1:17-18). Worldly knowledge is a false knowledge which is opposed to the truth, and Paul urges us to “Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith” (1 Timothy 6:20-21). Human knowledge is opposed to God’s knowledge and therefore is no knowledge at all; rather, it is foolishness.

To me it means to put on the mind of Christ and view life from God's perspective.  We see people as either redeemed or not redeemed.  We see the advice in Scriptures to be God's guidance to a better life both here and in eternity.  We conform our values to Christ's and seek riches  that count most in heaven, not riches that the world considers to be the most valued.  So we may not seek after power, wealth and fame.  But we may be rich in contentment and peace, love and joy.

We should, as humans rely on the LORD's knowledge because ......

[1]  Because while we THINK we know everything - we woefully don't.  Even the best and brightest of us, like Einstein, had critical errors in their knowledge.  As a former science teacher, I can tell you that science is always self-correcting.  At least good science does.  The human race at one time was thoroughly convinced of the following:

  • the life "spontaneously generated"
  • that the universe was fixed
  • that you could cure someone by bleeding them out

[2]  And it's not just science that can boast of faulty "knowledge".  The church is no different.  From Peter's judaizing to the Puritan's dunking women under the water for prolonged periods of time to prove their witchcraft (all it did was kill them) to countless people today clinging to one singular verse in the Bible (usually quoting in incorrectly) and making an entire doctrine of it that is at best dead wrong and at worst heresy - even Christians cannot rely solely on their own knowledge.

[3] The Bible says that "knowledge puffs up".  There are people on Christian message boards all over the world who will spends HOURS trying to prove someone wrong, but will not walk across street to tell a lost neighbor about Jesus Christ.

[4] But the Bible also says that "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" and that "the fool hates knowledge".  Our knowledge has to stem from God's knowledge.  We will never know everything that he knows, but we can take what he does allow us to know and to learn it perfectly and to treat it as a great treasure.  We have to allow it to lead and guide us - understanding that it came from Almighty God and not our own limited logic.  Even the things outside of his word that we learn - these things must be compared to the wisdom and knowledge of God and his truth or we may embrace a knowledge that is a lie.  And to live that out can be a fatal thing.

[5]  Read the book of Judges.  Four times it says that everyone was doing what was right in his own eyes - not God's eyes.  There are some pretty good examples in Judges of how leaning own your own knowledge will lead you to crazy town.

This meaning exactly what it is written in Proverbs:

·        “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” (Proverbs 3.5-8).

After all:

·        “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” (Job 28.28).

·        “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Provebs 9.10).

·        “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  (Proverbs 14.12).

·        “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 16.25).

·        “The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.” (Proverbs 16.1)

·        “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8.26).

May Jesus be our knowledge and wisdom (Colossians 2.3).

People make mistakes every day.

YHWH (GOD) never makes a mistake.

People don't know very much.

YHWH (GOD) knows everything there is to know - way beyond what all people together can even begin to imagine.

So,  as Y'SHUA MESSIAH SAVIOR lived,  and told HIS disciples to live,

listen to the FATHER all the time,  staying in prayer,  and DO what HE says to do.  (instead of what men say, or even one's own heart or mind).  i.e. in other words , also,  do not judge by what can be seen and heard physically, but judge rightouesly - whatever the FATHER determines,  DO as HE says.

Romans 12:1-2 ESV
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Our own knowledge is derived from a tree that was in the garden of Eden. There was a choice involved and that choice is the one your question addresses. This choice was not ours to make we were bound to Adams choice until Jesus came and opened up the way to the tree of Life which proverbs 3-18 says is the wisdom of God. Jesus in the sermon on the mount addresses these two trees.                                                                                                                              Matt 7     17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

Trees are one of the greatest parables in the bible It begins with trees and ends with trees. Parables are natural things that hold spiritual truths. Marks gospel ch. 4 tells us Jesus didn't teach them any thing but by parables. God in His great knowledge hid His great wisdom in the very things we see every day creation is screaming at us the truth of Jesus Christ. We are trees of righteousness the planting of the Lord that He might be glorified let us bare the fruit of His Spirit. Galatians ch.3    The Cross the tree of life and the wisdom of GOD!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
