DELIVERANCE, TONGUES AND THE CONTROVERSY To say deliverance and tongues is controversial is a under statement. Most things of the Spirit are as well. Most of theologies are based more on ones own experience or lack thereof as opposed to the understanding of scripture. Its been said the man with a theory is at the mercy of a man with a experience. For someone to try to convince me that being born again isn't real because they have seen and heard so much falsehood, they couldn't convince me it wasn't. and so it is with my experience of the gifts of the Spirit In John ch. 9- we see the experience of a man who was born blind in confrontation with the Pharisees and there theories. These theories were based on there knowledge of scripture. they even say they trust the words of Moses more then this mans testimony of healing. Even to calling the mans parents, in hopes of them telling them that the man wasn't born blind. They were furious that there long held beliefs were being challenged. What really tick them of was Jesus performed this miracle on the Sabbath. There is a group of well meaning and concerned Christians who are reluctant to accept some of these spiritual experiences deliverance and tongues at the top of the list. These have legitimate concern as there is much error and falsehood when it comes to these things. But please don't throw out the baby with the bath water. My over 40 yrs. experience in these things has been one of some truly awesome and spiritual and Jesus uplifting up times, but there has been some things that were surely not of the Spirit of God and i confess i was guilty of some. Jesus confirms His word with signs following. When His word is used to contrive signs you have contrived signs and those should defiantly be rejected. But to limit God to our own experience or to say others have to match mine is error. We are instructed to measure the fruit of ones life and not there gifts or even there calling, they are given with out repentance. Every work or even experience including my statement here will be tried by fire and i fear not the enemy or falsehood but the cleansing fire of the Holy Spirit. We will be tested and what will remain will be fruit, now abides faith, hope, and love, the reason i fear is i am not perfected in Love. Perfect Love cast out fear and my prayer is to walk in it apart from my lack of experience or my lack of any knowledge i have acquired. If ive learned anything it is i have so much more to learn and His Word is the text book and His Spirit is the teacher. There is no reason for our enemy to contrive signs if he didn't fear the One who does the TRUE signs JESUS! the same yesterday, today, and forever!

Agree with Yowm Pharaohs magicians could not create exodus 8-16-19 The Plague of Insects 16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become gnats through all the land of Egypt.’” 17 They did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were gnats on man and beast. All the dust of the earth became gnats through all the land of Egypt. 18 The magicians tried with their secret arts to bring forth gnats, but they could not; so there were gnats on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the Lord had said. This would be the place Paul was refurring to in 2 tim. 3. Our enemy is a illutionist not a realist. Our protection from his deception is in the name thats above every name our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Great scriptures) Also in exodus chs. 7-8-9 we see Pharaohs magicians doing signs but they could not do what Moses and Arron were capable of thru the power of God. Paul refers to this in 2 timothy ch3-vrs.7-8. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. 9 But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes’s and Jambres’s folly was also. Satan does have a conterfit but the power of God thru Jesus christ and His anointed Word thru His followers will expose these lies with the Truth! There is much to be said on this subject as the new testament is filled with warnings of false teaching and false signs in the days we now live. We must take heart as the Lord has told us that nothing can seperate us from His Love. The enemies of God in moses day were exposed by the greater power which is Gods power. In our Day these deceptions will be exposed by the power of God in the Name of Jesus! When the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.

Not disagreeing with you missmuffett. Have respected all of your posts and always look forward to what you have to say. Having heart trouble and totally dependent on docters and pharmacist. Deliverance isnt always beeing totally free of the circumstances. And deliverance not always casting out a demon but dealing with those things that we must endure in this fallen world the prince of this world is very real and would rather he not be recognizsed in any situation the truth is it can be physical as well as spiritual but hes the cause of both. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil Acts 10-38. Pray to God for the day when all His enemys are the footstool of His feet and death is swallowed up in victory. Hoping we can agree to disagree a little bit on this one.

Agree with Davida. Standing with you against these forces of darkness in The most powerful name of JESUS. His authority is given to us to set the captives free and to help those whom He loves. He gives us the authority and in His name the Spirit of God is the power to evict the enemy. Not knowing all the circumstances of this one whom you minister to. Are they reaching out to God for help and willing to come against these forces with your help. one will put a thousand to flight and two will put ten thousand to flight. Do you have any Christian friends there who would be willing to help you pray. Standing with you and this one for deliverance in the name that is above every name. I was raised a Lutheran and my parents had me christen and sprinkled as a baby. When i was 28 i got saved in a southern baptist church and was baptized 2 days later. Baptism for me has been like a stake in the ground it didn't save me but is one of the very first experiences. To make a confession or declaration to those who witness as well as to our enemy. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. God bless and may He lead you to the perfect situation and persons to accomplish your desire. Oh by the way i was blessed to baptize my parents after my conversion. There both in heaven now.

Our own knowledge is derived from a tree that was in the garden of Eden. There was a choice involved and that choice is the one your question addresses. This choice was not ours to make we were bound to Adams choice until Jesus came and opened up the way to the tree of Life which proverbs 3-18 says is the wisdom of God. Jesus in the sermon on the mount addresses these two trees. Matt 7 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits. Trees are one of the greatest parables in the bible It begins with trees and ends with trees. Parables are natural things that hold spiritual truths. Marks gospel ch. 4 tells us Jesus didn't teach them any thing but by parables. God in His great knowledge hid His great wisdom in the very things we see every day creation is screaming at us the truth of Jesus Christ. We are trees of righteousness the planting of the Lord that He might be glorified let us bare the fruit of His Spirit. Galatians ch.3 The Cross the tree of life and the wisdom of GOD!

When we come to the Lord we come with a lot of baggage. At least I did, a certain amount of that baggage still remains. All praise to Jesus He has lightened the load. But still i must war and battle a enemy that at times causes my soul to be in turmoil. The word possession is a bad translation it indicates ownership which for sure is not the case even in a unbeliever. The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof and all that dwell therein. Jesus payed the price for every man. Satan does not own and never has. He stole not purchased. He is a thief and a robber and a liar. He wants us to think if we struggle with sins some how he has ownership. Deliverance is more then just a matter of visually casting them out although that is one of the ways the Lord has given us to deal with these things. Were we get in trouble is when how ever He might deliver us is to think we need to make it a formula of how it always should be. Ministries that major in one particular way to try to accomplish something that may have started in the Spirit end up in the flesh. And said ministry ends up more of some ones performance then actual ministry. This is true even in the preaching of the word. Without the Spirit the ministry is not gonna have legitimate sighs follow. All that the Lord has given us to do battle against our enemy we are going to need this journey is not gonna get any easier. The biggest weapon we have is our unity as that's when the Spirit comes with all the weapons that are not carnal we are not each others enemy's. We are fellow soldiers in the army of the Lord.
