When The Jews Look Up And Turn To Their Messiah

I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly." Hosea 5:15 (New Heart English Bible)

As They See Their Yeshua Coming Back Down

"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. Zechariah 12:10 (New International Version)

As The Graves Of All The Saints Open

Brothers and sisters, we don't want you to be ignorant about those who have died. We don't want you to grieve like other people who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and came back to life. We also believe that, through Jesus, God will bring back those who have died. They will come back with Jesus. We are telling you what the Lord taught. We who are still alive when the Lord comes will not go into his kingdom ahead of those who have already died. The Lord will come from heaven with a command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the dead who believed in Christ will come back to life. Then, together with them, we who are still alive will be taken in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. In this way we will always be with the Lord. So then, comfort each other with these words! 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (GOD'S WORD® Translation)

As His Armies Trail Behind Him

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. Revelation 19:11-14 (New Living Translation)

Then Will Israel Rejoice

Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. The LORD has taken away your judgments, he has cast out your enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the middle of you: you shall not see evil any more. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear you not: and to Zion, Let not your hands be slack.

The LORD your God in the middle of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:14-17 (American King James Version)

To See The LORD's

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, Luke 1:13 (English Standard Version)

Glory~!

I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory will I not give to another, Neither My praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8 (JPS Tanakh 1917)

~

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Bible)

Love, Your Brother Joe

~

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalms 119:160 (King James Bible)

The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s charter. Here too, Heaven is opened and the gates of Hell disclosed.

Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully.  It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure.

It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents.

I really don't get this.

Fasting is a deliberate and voluntary decision to go without food. Just not eating (either because you don't have access to food, or because you are too unwell or upset to eat) is really not the same thing - not to my mind, anyway.

And even if Jesus and His disciples did 'fast', what significance does it have?

Please read the OP. Esther fasted for God's favour and it was this that was a foreshadow of what Jesus and His disciples did.

I'm not I follow you thought process here. What are is that it is ok for you to not post scripture to back up your opinion yet others have to. I have to agree with several posters on this thread that you need to give scripture to support your belief versus others doing it for you.

Also can you clarify something for me with your last part of the quote. Are you saying that if we don't accept the poor interpretation of scripture being given that we aren't Christians? I would think that as believers we would actually see it and then defend against it. A non believer wouldn't do that because they don't know God's Word. Just curious.

I posted 5 verses in the OP and all of Luke 24 is cited. I can't help you if you can't read things properly.

Emphasizing is one thing providing scriptural support is a while other matter. What I'm gathering from this quote anyway is that emotion is somehow creating a belief in something that isn't supported by scripture. Throwing around a couple verses here and there just support. Its just throwing something out there blindly hoping at least one verse will be a hit.

I'm sure that the disciples were sad and in mourning. But it doesn't prove that Jesus fasted the fast of Esther which is what this post is all about.

If quote scripture if I could on this one. The problem is there is absolutely no evidence in the gospels that Jesus fasted the fast of Esther. So I wouldn't even no where to begin. However this verse I think is appropriate for this discussion 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world". Not saying that you are a false prophet however we must be careful we are not trying to add to the gospel or try to make something truth that really isn't there.

Again I posted 5 verses in the OP and all of Luke 24 is cited. Please stop trying to derail the thread just because you have lost other arguments in other threads with me. Try to learn from where you have gone wrong. Learning from ones mistakes is healthy. What you are doing here is self destructive and I have reported you for everyone's good.

If we are to go by such logic then we can say the OT is superficial. We could say Israel spending 40 yrs in the desert is a superficial connection of Christ spending 40 days in the wilderness.

....................................

The book of Esther is not some piece of noval with no Messianic overtones.

Vashti was summoned to come to the King’s Banquet, but she refused (Esther 1:11-17).

Vashti would be a picture of those who are described in this parable in Matthew 22:2-14. Many were called to the  Marriage Supper of the Lamb but few come.

Esther, would be the born-again redeemed bride after she has purified herself and has been found worthy to approach the king.

.......................................

Persian king has many virgins. But Esther represents “the few who are chosen” in Matthew 22:14, for she is the obedient bride who ultimately won the king’s favor.

.........................................

Esther would symbolizes the sacrificial goat because she risked her life for her people by coming before the king uninvited.

If I Perish, I Perish  (Esther 4:16). Esther  behaved like Christ, who declared the night before his crucifixion  Not as I will but your will be done”(Matthew 26:42; Luke 22:42)

...........................................

Vashti symbolizes the scapegoat who was banished and sent away---never to return.

Vashti’s name means beautiful because she was beautiful to the eye. She symbolizes Israel who was also called beautiful (Song of Solomon 6:4; 7:1).

.................................................................

King Saul from The Tribe of Benjamin disobeyed and Esther from the Tribe of Benjamin obeyed.

......................................

Haman plotted to kill the Jewish people and satan plotted to kill the Jewish Messiah

.........................................

Mordecai is a picture of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit inspired Christ to be an intercessor for the House of Judah, just as Mordecai who was the cousin of Esther, inspired her in her role as an intercessor for her people.

...........................................................

Esther was the door to Salvation for the Jews and Christ is the door to the Father

.....................................

Lots were cast for Christs garment and Lots were cast for what the best time to kill the Jews in the book of Esther.

........................................

Haman paid money to betray the House of Judah and Judas paid Money to betray Christ

.....................................

Christ was temporarily forsaken by the Father in Heaven and Esther was temporarily forsaken by her husband

........................................

The scepter of Judah given to Christ and The king’s scepter given to Esther

.........................................

On the third day of her fast (Esther 5:1), Esther asked for the life of her people = Deliverance

Christ was ressurected on the 3rd day for the life of His people = Deliverance

Hence "When is Jesus Coming" statement

The act of 3 day fasting was used in times of spiritual warfare. The Jews recognised this, Moses recognised this especially in warfare when he himself fasted for 3 days waging war with Amalek.

The Mishnah Berurah explains that Adar 13 was also a day of fasting:

We fast on the thirteenth of Adar because in the time of Mordecai and Esther they assembled together on the thirteenth day of Adar to fight and to stand up for themselves, and they needed to seek HaShem’s compassion and plead that he would help them retaliate against their enemies. We find that whenever there was a day of battle, they would fast. As our rabbis have explained, on the day that Moses our Teacher waged war with Amalek, he was fasting. If so, then certainly in the days of Mordecai as well they would fast on that day. Thus, it is customary for all Israel to fast on the thirteenth of Adar, and it is called the Fast of Esther in order to remind us that Hashem (may he be blessed!) sees and hears everyone at times of distress, when they fast and repent to God wholeheartedly, just as he did in those days.

........................................

Satan had already possessed one of the disciples. The events leading from the last supper to the crucifixion was a time of great spiritual warfare. In fact it would be unbiblically uncharacteristic for the disciples not to fast for deliverance, and instead decided to go to McDonald's for a bite to eat or to the Four Horses pub for a few pints with the ladies during such spiritual attack, while the Messiah the bridegroom has just been taking away....in fact it would be the opposite of Christ's prophecy.

Mark 2:20 (NASB) "But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

In that day....what part of in that day do you find challenging?

Thank you inchrist.

And not forgetting that Esther asked her friends to fast with her, Just as Jesus' friends fasted too.

I thought you were saying that the disciples were fasting because they were upset? That's why I'm confused.

Another thing that puzzles me:

I can't find any reference to the Fast of Esther being kept at Passover. The Jews have apparently always observed it immediately before Purim - and just for 24 hours.

Yes I know that but if you read the OP it explains what I am on about, then you would understand. I see that you are new to this forum, not sure if you are new to other forums but how it works is that you read all of the OP and respond to that. If you wish to respond to a subsequent post then you still need to read the OP and preferably all the posts in the thread, so that you don't repeat what others have said or state things that have been answered already. Otherwise it leads to people having to spend time writing things like this.

First off I am not sure what I did or said that made you so angry with me. All I did was responded to your post and the fact that there is no scriptural evidence of what your OP was all about. Yes I agree that you put Luke 24 in your post but that doesn't mean it supported anything. I also didn't say anything that others had said before me. Also I do not argue I discuss. I am not here to win arguments or discussions I'll let God's Word prove whether a discussion's point is true or valid. I am here on this site because I love the Lord and His Word. While I know that I don't know everything about God and even His Word (no one does) I do know when things are not right or true based upon my reading and studying of God's Word.

I am also not sure what I said was self-destructive. If standing for God's Word is self-destructive then I guess that is that case but I won't stop trusting what God's Word has to say. I may not always have the answers and I know there are many more on this thread that know way more than I do, but I do know when an opinion is based up God's Word and when scripture is trying to be "fit" into an opinion.

For the sake of keeping this thread clear of attack I won't respond to anything in here anymore. I apparently upset the OP and that was not intentional at all. Bottom line is God's Word will either prove the opinion right or wrong. And as I said I will always stand by what God says and not what someone's opinion is not matter how sincere they are about their opinion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
