Where did all the Christian denominations come from?

That's a lot of reading for sure. I'm saving this so I can take more time later on to learn more. I never really thought about how all the different denom's got started. This is a great discussion.

A great thread . Prayerfully the animus that proliferates under the guidance and inspiration of the dark sources aligned against God's people and church will stop wherever it is active now. A people that forget where their church began are lost in where their church is destined to go.

The Mennonite church was started in the USA by 8 men, two of which are my ancestors, Isaac and David Martin which I thought was pretty cool. They founded the first Mennonite church called the Herr house in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Man made Ideas and interpretations..people can believe what they want..no matter what religion throughout the world even within so called Christianity you can call 

yourself anything christian etc even Napoleon Bonaparte for that matter...dosn't make you that because YOU say so..

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

must be according to the instruction manual (Bible) or just make another religion to suit what YOU want !

Remember Jesus was killed by God worshipers and tried using their OWN understanding of the word of God against him !

God is not the author of confusion..the adversary is !

I think of course you are right. However, I would ask is unity as God expects possible when animus identifies members of any denomination as unworthy of being called Christian first?

As I said, people populate denominations. They enter into a denomination because they feel called to be there. But it is the individual who is in Christ that makes up any populace under a denomination . The rites and rituals and practices unique to each denomination are of men. Jesus was a revolutionary, who taught a very simple way to honor God. Men in their desire to have something to do with it all are the one's that made the pomp and circumstance if you will arrive behind the plain manner of worship that Jesus taught. 

Denominations contain the majority of the population in the world dedicated to Christ. While God calls and knows the individual. Prejudice against a denomination in particular isn't Christ like. The whole matter of salvation in Christ pertains to the individual.

Which denomination did Jesus found? He was a Jew.
