Knowing God's ways

There is a lot of difference between observing God's actions (even His miracles) and understanding His ways.

Most Christians observe only God's actions. They are impressed by external miracles. They eagerly seek for healing and for material blessings. Most of their prayers too are related to such earthly matters, in which they want to see God act on their behalf and bless them in the physical realm. This is because they are in a state of spiritual babyhood.

The Bible says that eternal life is "to know God and Jesus Christ" (John 17:3).

Eternal life does not refer to eternal existence. Eternal life is but another phrase for God's life and nature.

Is this not within the meaning of John 17:3, same as saying if you believe in God, as the Jews believe, but you don't believe in Jesus Christ, you don't have Eternal Life. 

JESUS CHRIST said: I am the Eternal Life. 

But this is not strange, and Jesus Christ knew it, that at that particular season, before his resurection, even if someone believes in Jesus, even with faith in Jesus still he didn't have Eternal Life. Like Lazarus when he died he did not have Eternal Life, Jesus raised him from the dead.

And this is because JESUS had not died and Resurrected yet, and made the inheritor of Heaven.

He asks the Father to be in all of us who believe his disciples. Because he want us to be with him where he is and see him in glory. The Glory he had with our father before the world began. If you do not have Christ in you making the Father known to you. You haven't been given to him but are of the world and were not included in his request to give us eternal life.  So to know God is eternal life, reguardless of what you think. But i do respect your right to think.  John 17 is the Lords prayer for the redemption and salvation of mankind through the gospel and our hope is Christ in Us. It is the only place we are personally prayed for by Jesus as those who believe.

I would like to, and for a moment almost I agree with you, but as I read your post and remember JESUS words in John 17: I have to disagree with you, that's not what we JESUS said: 

JESUS said: that God does not have the Eternal Life. That's why he send JESUS CHRIST who has the Eternal Life. 

The one who died on the Cross has the Eternal Life. The Savior. 

No Savior, Redeemer NO Eternal Life.

JESUS said: I am the Eternal Life. 

If someone has JESUS CHRIST , also has the FATHER, whether it is within the knowledge or not, JESUS CHRIST and the Heavenly Father knows. 

If someone doesn't have faith in JESUS CHRIST, is without God.

Most Christians are after what God can do in their life but not following God fully, and building a relationship with God.

Read it. He said I pray not for the world but for those you have given me out of the world. If its written very clear our doctrins and thinking need to change because Gods Word will not change.

It's not clear to me what you are pointing out to me, and what you are trying to bring to my attention. 

JESUS CHRIST died for the whole world to give Life to all who believe in him, and of course the Holy Spirit is for all. 

I did not say anything else, or did I post something that may suggest something else, please I welcome your input. 

JESUS CHRIST sometimes works in ways not known to us, and even not acceptable to us. 

Sometimes we can be right to use scripture to discern and other times we need the Indervantion of the Holy Spirit.

So long as this SPIRIT of JESUS does not contradict his original sayings.  Way too many other spirits out their working in mysterious ways

only to find out these mysterious ways are contradicting JESUS sayings.  THAT is not The HOLY SPIRIT , nor CHRIST nor GOD.

that is the deceiver fast at work.  SO long as YOU KNOW and understand that.

Your statement in the first paragraph does not have clarity. 

Jesus was speaking to the Jews before the Cross within the old Covenant. 

And he also said some things which were to come with the New Covenant

This is an example:

JESUS CHRIST said that I am for the Jews only, or I have come to the Jews only. 

JESUS repeat that more than once, even the time when he was with the Sarophinician woman. 

And then after the Cross within the New Covenant he never repeat those words again, to the contrary he said. We are in the New Covenant, now I am the Lord of Lords and the judge of all, every knee shall bow down to me.
