That is a tragic misuse of Scripture and in the case of John Piper it is irresponsible and inexcusable.

but it's your favorite method  ... the Christmas tree lights of Scripture  :happyhappy:: oh! here's a verse that says (out of context) what I want it to say...

God does not want anybody lost. He bends over backwards to accommodate us in our folly.

I am unsure why we have to keep asking the question of, 'can I fall away' or 'am I always saved'.

If we understand and embrace what we know of the Lord wholeheartedly, giving as much of ourselves that we can understand to Him; what else must we do?
Jump thru dogmas' hoops? Hurl ourselves thru doctrines' doors to the unknown nirvana of nothingness?
Confuse ourselves with conflicting discussions? Worry about something we have so little chance of ever understanding outside of our own personal individual faith?

There is way too much psycho-Heresy and philosophy floating around in the minds of 'the leaders' and the products of our seminaries and bible colleges.
Reading the actual bible for ourselves and studying the thoughts of the church fathers is also questioned by our religious oligarchy. Perhaps because they know how much has been tainted by poor translations and deliberate falsifying of many of the original documents.

We will stand alone before our Lord.
All the books, sermons and a cartload of DVDs will be left behind.
It is just you and me, individually, that has to stand before our Lord Yeshua.
It is in HIM that we put our trust.

Trust in the Lord with all your hearts and lean NOT on your own understanding [or those theologians].
In all your way acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

Most of the false doctrines that put out there don't come from seminaries; they come from people who are not plugged into a local church,  and have a theology that they have cooked up on their own.

This is why God has set up through direction of Holy Spirit Pastors, teachers in the body so we can be guided unto all truth The Word Itself proclaims .... God forms a unified body when His Word is represented as The word 'IS' purposed in God Himself... The faith that is grown out of this is transportable into The Holiness of God The Father's Full Presence! This is what I never knew you meant by Our Lord

Matthew 7:23 (KJV)

[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

You See we know at age twelve The Lord Jesus knew The Scriptures well for He amazed the teachers in the Temple... so if we know The Scripture to the point of practicing what is within those Scriptures then Christ The Lord Jesus will know us as well (all by The Power of God The Holy Spirit)...

John 8:32 (KJV)

[32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Imagine being in a unbounded place where there is truly no begin and end and possibilities in that are unbounded >free indeed<
Love, Steven

Yes, I can lose my salvation. But then I praise God, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, it's not dependent upon me. As my Abba Father, He will do to/for me whatever needs to be done. He will NEVER leave me, He will NEVER forsake Me.  He is God Almighty, our creator. God is Light. He is my Daddy. Is He yours?

2Ti 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day

for this cause did the Lord Jesus Christ warn us in (Luke 17:32) "Remember Lot's wife" which is rightly divided with (Luke 9:62) "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

If Rom 11 is speaking of being cast out in regards to personal salvationthen it looks like we will be grafted back in as well...

Romans 11:23-24,29 KJVS
[23] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. [24] For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches , be graffed into their own olive tree? [29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Rom 11 just doesn't fit the personal paradigm. It is speaking of God's dealings with Israel, the Church and the Gentiles.

Exactly.  The whole chapter has to be read in its entirety to get the meat of the substance.  Why produce a verse and not substantiate what is the context behind it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
