The problem is we are not to venerate any persons at all, God does not share His glory with another.  All glory, worship, veneration, thanks, praise, prayer be unto Him alone.  And anyone who is of Him wouldn't want it any different.......like the angels they would say, don't do it, worship God alone, I am just a servant and brother!  What I've noticed about the KJV is that it is the most pure translation we have overall........it is more in spirit, has more depth.  Other translations that I have seen are mixed with the mind and spirit of man, so are diluted and have another spirit.  (I'm not a scholar in any way, so have to go by discernment, as the Holy Spirit is gracious to give.)  Some are nothing but paraphrases, like the Message bible.  Can't imagine anyone thinking so highly of themselves that they would presume to rewrite the word of Almighty God, yikes....even Jesus spoke about mere jots and tittles that even HE wouldn't remove..........but the point is that erring bibles miss the mark and lead astray.

It isn't idolatry to love and cherish God's holy word.......bible says that even God magnifies His word above even His name.  The reason is that we can't separate the Person from His words/thoughts.  And the scriptures themselves are full of His saints loving and venerating His word.......because as was said truthfully here recently, God is His Word.  Where people wander into error is when they don't love His word enough, they put it as equal or secondary to books and such written by mere men....and that is what leads them astray.  But the bible says we can't serve two masters, we will hate the one and love the other.....there is only one Head of the body, who is Christ Himself, who leads by His Spirit which blows where it wills, and so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.......not entombed in any institution or church, be it Protestant or Catholic.  He is a jealous God and is to be feared.  Just want you to know OldSchool that there is more of Him to be gotten hold of.........good to believe in God, but the bible says even the devil believes and trembles, so there is more we need to receive in order to lay down any idols and be born of Christ's Spirit.  He is seeking worshipers to worship Him in SPIRIT and in truth (His word).  You might find it encouraging to read Acts 10, about the Roman centurion, Cornelius.

RIGHT !  RIGHT ! RIGHT !  Yes, yes, yes indeed.   You are correct - anything can become an idol.

Thus, "anything" that IS AN IDOL,  is what the true christians have been warning you about - the idols that you serve and cannot avoid in catholicism.

So what makes it so hard for you to repent of idol-ism inherent in catholic-ism ?

Why does the idolatry required from rome keep you chained up ?

Is it just because of how long they have kept you in darkness ? (as if you are just a victim, instead of a perpetrator too)

Some old people ,  in nursing homes,  in hospices,  or just in home care ,

do not think they can be saved from their "care" takers , even if the "care" takers are idolatrous evil doers.

YAHWEH PROVIDED A WAY.  .... even when it seems there is no way.....
