What is the Antichrist known as in the Bible?

1 Jn.2:18 is the only place in the Bible where the term Antichrist is found, described as many.  But the one Satan will give his throne, power and authority to, is referred to by a number of different terms as recorded below, and where to find them:

1. He is the "little horn" in Dan.7:8;

2. He is known as a "stern faced king, in Dan.8:23.

3. He is all three of the "he's" in Dan.9:27.

4. He is known as the willful king in Dan.11:36-45.

 5. In 2 Thess.2:3, 4, he is referred to as "the man of lawlessness."

.6.  In 2 Thess.2:8-9, he is referred to as the "lawless one."

.7.  In Rev.11:7; 17:3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17, he is called the beast.

  8.  In Rev.13:1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, he is called the beast out of the Sea.

 9.  He is cast into the lake of fire, in Rev.19:20.

The beast out of the earth in Rev.13:11-17 is the False Prophet and the activity he is involved in:

11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name"

When Jesus returns in His second coming with His armies from heaven, He will defeat both beasts, the Antichrist and the False Prophet, Throw them in the lake of fire, and destroy the armies of the ten horns/nations allied to them, recorded in Rev.19:11-21.

People have tried to play pin the tail on the Antichrist for quite sometime. They have said Obama, Putin and Donald Trump is the Antichrist and others. The Bible does not really say where the Antichrist will come from. It has all been speculation. Is the Antichrist alive today? It is possible. He will not be be revealed until the beginning of the last 3 1/2 years of the seven year tribulation.

Well yes, and well perhaps no. Just a question (for all) in my own mind is:  If the anti-Christ is a personality a being, a man, and not a group or movement of a nation or nations, is he not revealed from the beginning of the seven years?  And later found to be a betrayer some three and a half years into the covenant he/it makes with the nation of Israel that will allow for the unbelieving Jews to make sacrifices at the new temple?

Won't the anti-Christ be known even as he is heralded for making the reinstitution of sacrifices by unbelieving Jews possible yet again? He will be almost universally heralded, but won't it be known to the world at large?

Seems to me the anti-Christ is one human being, not a group, nor entity of nations, and is likely alive in flesh today.  But the presence of the  physical anti-Christ could be  an event to come many centuries away from now. It just feels like it must happen soon and very soon.

Though it especially  irritates Roman Catholics and I understand  and sympathize with why, I think it will be  a pope of the popedom sitting on the seven hills of Rome that will bring about the covenant, and most likely is the anti-Christ himself.  But like missmuffett stated it is like pinning the tail on the donkey even as one might try to lift a corner of the blindfold while disoriented by the spinning around that is happening today.

Hang on my child, joy comes in the morning- Good tune to sing from the heart for hard days to come.

He is supernatural,   he is not born in a  fleshly body for he has his own body.

Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

He was created the most beautiful cherub, the full pattern.

Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Notice this .... the beast and Satan are different [Revelation 13:1-4]

The beast will be sent to the abyss at the battle of Armageddon [Revelation 19:19-20]

Satan will then be sent to the abyss during the Lord's millennial kingdom upon the earth [Revelation 20:1-3]

Hi Quasar93

Good scriptures there, but it should say Christ will defeat the kingdom of the 10 kings, and the False Prophet.  Both are working together.  Both are beasts, one is a kingdom, and the other a man.

The antichrist is the "spirit" that goes against Christ, and had already come when Christ came into the world.  This spirit goes into all who oppose the "Word of God" made flesh, and his doctrine.  Antichrist is a general term.

The 10 Kings and their kingdom are antichrist, the FP is antichrist, the world is antichrist, all who refuse the light which Christ is and gives freely to the world are antichrist.

1 John 2:22   Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3   And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 John 1:7   For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Yes, the Antichrist is working through Satan. It is the unholy trinity. Satan, the Antichrist and the false prophet. All working together in the seven year tribulation. Three separate persons.

Negative.  The beast out of the sea, the Antichrist, in Rev.13:1-2 is the "he" who triggers the tribulation, comes out of the Abyss before then, as recorded in Rev.17:8.  He is the same person as the rider on the white horse in Rev.6:2.  In Rev.19:20, Jesus will throw him into the lake of fire, along with the False Prophet.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
