Hi HisFirst

We have had quite a few.  I am such a sucker for animals.  My post was meant as a joke to you, because the puppy was so cute and all I want to do is give them a cuddle.  I daren't go near animal shelters or look at the homeless ones in newspapers etc. because I love them so much.  People say to me "don't try and pat our cat (or dog) as they don't like strangers".  Their animal just walks right up to me and "just knows" that I love them.  One guy said to me "you're the cat whisperer" lol.

However we are getting older and can no longer afford the vet bills etc.  We have one dog left and one cat.  Both have to have special diets and the dog has diabetes and yesterday had a blood test for thyroid problems.  We can't bear to part with them and that means great sadness when we do.  So we made a pact - no more pets.  Hope you didn't take my post the wrong way!

Not at all Sister, I didnt take your post the wrong way at all:emot-hug:

I kinda had a hunch you must've had a few pets in your time!

Yes, some people just seem to connect with animals and you sound like you are one of them that do. My dad was one also - animals and little kids loved him:thumbs_up:

I used to drink EVERY night and that is no exaggeration.  New Years Eve to me was “amateur night”. My goal was to get more blitzed than I did the previous year. I invariably succeeded—- drank 3 fifths of Pagan Pink Ripple Wine at the height of my accomplishments. Then ,of course I was sick for longer than I care to remember. Man, those were the days! Lol. Somebody said that God looks out for drunks and children....it was true in my case. If somebody would have told me in those days that  I would be spending that Holiday Season in a Christian Forum group , I probably would have thrown up on their shoes. Gods grace is truly amazing!

Hi Sam

So glad and rejoicing that you are rescued, saved from that downward spiral by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself! Praise Him. Praise Him. Praise Him.

Some friends of mine moved from a small outlying district into the town.  They bought a house in a certain street where there happened to be a state-owned house built for people in need next door to them.  This house is, and has been occupied by for a number of years, an alcoholic who rummages through bins at the local supermarket for food because his welfare payment goes on flagons after his rent is taken out.  They befriended him, and help him where they can.  He comes to our food program now and then and has even been to church.  We are all kind to him and pray for him, unfortunately thus far he has not been able to say no to his addiction.  There are so many more like him.  It is tragic.

Is your dog on insulin injections?  We had a diabetic cat for 6 yrs who needed injections twice a day. Quite expensive & required that we be home a lot and hire a vet tech when we were gone. What we do for the love of our animals!! Lol!

Yes, Davida.  He is.  He is a tiny little thing, a cross between a Chihuahau and Maltese Terrior; the cutest thing out.  We treat him like our baby (the real ones have grown up lol).  He has to have 3.5 units morning and night.  One of us has to be home at 8.30am and pm.  We take it in turns as we both don't like doing it.  Soooo expensive, when you add up the insulin, expensive diet, needles (we use them only once, as instructed) etc.  Now, his thyroid..... hmmmm.  Yesterday the cost was $277.50 as they took a blood test for thyroidism as well.  He is 9 yo and I hope we don't have to do the most hated thing of all.  We are going on a holiday in July/August this year (first in 4 years) and have got house-sitters who are ok with doing the injections.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
