Sometimes when Im praying I switch back and forth. I'll be addressing the Father initially then the next couple sentences Im talking to Jesus.

How should I approach this? (Im a new, reborn Christian)

You appear to be doing the correct thing. Yeshua is Yahweh in the flesh. The WORD.

As written in (All through) Scripture, and since the beginning,  YHWH is Echad.

Yahshua prays in John 17 for all believers/disciples to be Echad just as the Father and the Son are Echad. (One)

we should address the Father honoring Jesus as a Lord/Christ (which means Jesus is the only second in the heavenly hierarchy after the Father) - however, we have to seek the One Who is really the true Lord God, because usually it has not been enough for religious worshipers to just say "God"

Blessings

I wouldn't worry about this.... switching back and forth.   Your prayers are sincere, you are born again, that's what counts.  However, alot of people do like to address Our Father, and close their prayers In Jesus' Name....but it's more important that your prayers are sincere so if you happen to switch back and forth unconsciously, I think it's ok.

Btw, praying in Jesus' name means that we realize that Jesus is the only reason our prayers are heard.

If we follow Jesus's example we would pray to the Father in the Son's name.

You can address all of them. They are all God. Or you can address anyone of them individually. I usually pray to Jesus Christ God the Son. Occasionally I will pray to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

I pray to the Father in the name of the Son.  But you've no reason to worry; if you pray you are heard because we serve the triune God who is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
