One of my cousins works in the print shop at Swagart Ministries. About every other week I drive within sight of the campus. Its sad. On the corner where I have to make a turn to visit one of our customers, you see a large incomplete building that was meant to be a dormatory for the college. To look at it you would think it was a parking garage.

I have no doubt that many good things have come from his ministry. God has seen to that. I still get a cold chill when someone in a tailored three peice suit and shiney gold watch speak of God to me. I have nothing against these men on a personal level. But the damage they do to the image of the Church makes me weep.

Understand that I have spent most of my life denying the word of God for the sake of these men that twist it to their own benefit. I denounced a Faith/religion where men of such obvious material desires became icons. In my youth, my encounters with Christians most times revealed a double standard. At one point it seemed that the nautiest children would be found in Christian Private schools. You know..... the preachers daughter complex.

Not till recently did I ask him to save me from myself. He has done som much for me in such a short time and yet I am still an infant barely able to crawl.

Forgive my harsh comments regarding these televangelists. It is not my wish to speak ill of any man who prospers the word of God. It is only my wish that these men practice what they preach. I still feel that they do more harm than good and I can find no reason to get excited over even one of them being on any television station.

I live about about 30 north of where Jimmy Swaggart got caught with a back seat full of dirty magazines trying to buy a hooker.  While we all make mistakes and I admit this one was a bute, God can repair the damage.  I still think his biggest mistake was that of disobedience when the heads of the Assembly of God church told him he needed to stay out of the pulpit for a year while he was counseled and sat under someone elses teaching so he could return and do what God had called him to do.  He choose to do it his own way and I still think he is paying for it.  Too bad. It's a real shame, I use to love to listen to his singing and music.  I saw him not to long ago, and I have to say the years have not been kind to him.  He still lives in his million dollar home,worth much more now I"m sure,  bought with money he had promised to some children in Africa.  I think the church needs to do some house cleaning.  I pray his heart is right with God now and he's not just after the money again.

Let's be fair: There has NEVER been a HINT of monetary scandal in Jimmy Swaggart's Ministry. They are squeakiest clean of the squeaky clean! So let's talk about realities, not our prejudices........

God uses all of us despite our sin. Jimmy Swaggert obviously has work to do for the Lord or God would have made sure he stayed out. I'm not a big fan of TV evangelists but if God wants to he can even use Benny Hinn

Swaggart himself said that a person should step out of the ministry for one year after he was caught in sin. He said that when Jim and Tammy were caught. When he was caught, he never followed his own rule.

The Spirit simply told me I didn't need to listen to him any more. The Spirit told me long before he was caught that he was into sin.

I wish him well. I have no hatred for him. I just don't have to listen to him for the above reasons.

IMO Swaggart got a little "big for his britches." He thought he was above being caught, etc. Listen to his early recordings of his music and I think you'll find a totally different Swaggart from the one we're now discussing. As a matter of fact, if you'll listen to his music from the 80's, I don't think you'll find the honesty and sincerity that once filled his music. He went on a downhill course and he got caught.

yes,jimmy swaggart did get "too big for his britches"and he will tell you he did..i heard him the other morning saying that "pride" and "sin" was his problem at that time.it is not just t.v evangalist that want "love offering and seeds of faith" the churches do it too..jimmy swaggarts 70 radio stations are totally listener supported,no one can control what they teach and preach just because they adv. on the station,so he doesn't allow others to adv on them..as for the assemblies of God that is the church i attend,but u better not mention jimmy swaggarts name,ya'll be sat down and have the demons cast of for saying his name..and yes i believe that AoG *pridefully* tryed to take his ministry away.. one of the 13 that tryed that was found of later having an affair ..they told him to not preach for 2 months..he died before his 2 months was up..if i heard him preach something that was false i'd stop listening to him,its a lot better that the false doctrin of the purpose driven life..which is what the *modern* churches are going to instead of the bible

well i can say this ..i've been listening to him for the last 6 months and i understand the bible more in this time than the 22 yrs i've been intending church.i've heard that the old testment wasn't important because we were not under the old laws..now i can see where the whole bible from genisis 1:1 to rev. 22:21 is all about Jesus..thats what is all about..not what jimmy swaggart did,but what Jesus Christ did at that cross 2000 yrs ago..judge him for his past if you think its the right thing to do.
