Do you feel like you're way ahead or way behind where your spouse is spiritually? I feel that I'm pretty close to where my husband is which is a blessing. I wouldn't want him behind me for sure. Ahead would be all right. He's a good husband who wouldn't browbeat me.

We are all on a differant spiritual level with GOD .

As far as GOD'S word ....I feel that some people like to make up their own

Bible. Their own rules, saying ...oh, its o.k. to do

that ....Noah did it or , David.

When GOD says ...NO.

I feel that I am spiritually ahead ...of my spouse.

Of course he may think differantly. :emot-hug:

LOVE and PEACE to everyone,

well, praise God, my husband got saved about 2 mths ago, so as far as knowledge is concerned, im ahead of him...but it is sad to say that i feel behind him in my relationship with God, because he has that "just got saved" joy...I wish i could be on fire every day...somtimes i feel like the only time that im on fire is when im at church. Im in the word everyday, and i pray everyday...but he's overjoyed with salvation more than me.

i agree with the commit that everyone is on a different level with our father, because of where we may be in our lifes, that dose not mean that ,i have a closer relation ship with christ.

In our marriage...I have noticed this....me and my husband have never went thru a valley..or a hard time spiritually at the same time. God has always let the other be able to lift the other up in time of need.

Dont get me wrong....we have been thru some times together that we werent for sure what God wanted us to do at a point or something like that...(and that was our fault that we didnt go into things really seeking Gods answer...I just didnt want anybody to think that we thought that God wasnt showing us what to do)....but we have both never been spritually weak at the same time.

Back to the question .....I think we are very close is our spiritual level. Sometimes Im ahead...and sometimes he is...lol We run neck and neck.

It is amazing how both grow and have similiar experiences real close together. I also agree that the other one doesn't go through something at the same time, and is there to help and vice versa. He doesn't let one get too far ahead of the other, or else alienation might take a toll. He has everything under control, just as He always has!

edit.

Toddlermom, in the blink of an eye the holy spirit can impart multitudes of knowledge that might take many years for others to obtain. God works in mysterious ways.

Whysoblind, all that glitters isn't gold. There are many trials and tribulations you are blessed at this time not to be going through. For better or worse sometimes means just that. Don't feel left out or inadequate, some may say you are blessed.

my wife and i are at two differant levels,

reason? cause we both grew up in differant environments and with two differant upbringings,

as we work together and grow closer to God we are growing stronger in the Lord together and the differances are shrinking

This is something that our marraige is struggling over. Not the only thing, but one of the things that I consider the most important. All I can do is keep praying, and loving my Lord asking Him for guidance.

I concider my wife to have a better grip on the spiritual aspects of life , probably because she was more broken than I was when we came to the Lord.

Luke 7 :40 And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to you. And he said, Master, say on.

41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said to him, You have rightly judged

I don't have a wife, or even a g/f. I don't have anyone to gauge myself by except scripture, and that shows me that I am woefully inept and inadequate.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
