I've been thinking how to word this topic without starting an argument. I think it would be interesting if you could post some beliefs that you have heard other Christians have that are not really Biblically based.  Like for example:

I once got into an argument with a guy who believed that plays and movies should not be used to spread the word of God, because the Bible gives no instructions to use plays or movies as away to spread the word of God. There for it should not be done.

I hope we can avoid arguing with each other and just post the believe. If you would like to debate the believe then make a new thread for that. Thank you and have some fun people! Learn to laugh! :happyhappy::cool2::24:

There's the belief that Jesus was actually a full-blooded Cherokee Indian, because one of His names in scripture is "Chief Cornerstone."

On a serious note, I actually read someone teaching that a certain English Bible translation was more reliable than the original Greek. That one almost made me fall out of my seat. :fryingpan:

In the place I went to grad school, there was some guy with a strange name who started a Christian Nudist church.  As I recall, he was trying to raise money to buy land in the mountains somewhere to start a nudist colony or something.

There are those who believe that Jews in Egypt were black and that the black people are the true Jews.  And there are those who believe that the true Jews are the Anglo-Saxons.   Those are both pretty strange.

Periodically we come across folks who think they are either Jesus or one of the two witnesses. Thats pretty much as off the wall as it gets.

Had a nice chat with a fellow about Jesus . . . he completely freaked out when I explained that Jesus was Jewish . . . born in Bethlehem to Jewish parents, in Judea and all that.

Called me the antichrist among a few other things. I got to meet some interesting people while working hotel security.  :)

I've run into the two witnesses one before. Someone believed that a woman might possibly be one of them. Unfortunately the Greek uses the masculine, which would make her the wrong kind of woman indeed...

maybe a witness for the LGBT community, but that's about it.

This isn't a Christian strange belief, but rather a Mormon strange belief.   Someone who ministered to Mormons told me that devout Mormons will wear special underwear with certain symbols on the underwear.  I think they are supposed to wear it all of the time.

Has anyone heard of this before?   I know they have other strange secret practices which go on in their temples.
