I've stepped back from this particular thread over the last few days, but want to pop in with a quick apology. I did some research on my own and found evidence that suggests that my own conclusion that Trump is motivated more by the prospect of profit than patriotism was probably incorrect. @shiloh357 and @Davida, my responses to you regarding Trump and profit were unfair, and you have my apology. Just to clarify, I will continue to disagree with you about many other Trump-related details (and quite likely many other things!), but I did not treat you in a way that a Christian should treat fellow Christians on that specific topic and you two have my sincere apology.

Loved your post! Christians need to do that prayer.  That is God's Truth-"There is Victory in That Prayer when ones FAITH has No Doubts that it Will Find its Mark". Faith+God's Will = Victory

Amen, add my prayers again today that Jesus delivers victory for America and Gods will for us ..

Thanks, sometimes it is helpful for me step back and think of the big picture. Jesus is Lord and those of us that affirm that have a much greater bond than and other differences are petty in comparison.

That's nice to know.   Thanks for that.  You are a reasonable person and it is good know that you are willing to be fair in your assessments and are willing to go where the evidence leads in this case.

That is what Left does all over the country.  They weaponize the court system to shut down what they don't like.  They also use the courts to overturn fair and honest elections in order to impose their wishes on the community.

Shilo said;  "Abraham Lincoln said that the philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next generation.  And I believe we are seeing the truth and wisdom of that statement borne out in America today".

My observation. What Lincoln said is the heart of it.
The court can work both ways, if the people would take a stand. And take back the courts.  But it takes involvement, a serious commitment.
Those pushing their warped ideologies are very committed, very militant, and patient. In the aftermath of WWII, the peaceful contented conservatives, the patriots, riding the wave of WWII victory over world take over, went about raising their families, trying to put the memories of years of war and death and poverty behind them. Providing for their children everything they wanted, the goodies they as parents were denied, growing up through the great depression and then fighting for years  for our freedoms. They paid the price, some the greatest price. Women had entered the workplace during the war, and were recognized to be quiet competent. Many continued in the work force. The family model changed, and then the hippy generation blossomed. Viet Nam gave them a focal point/catalyst  to rebel, to protest, to burn draft cards, and flee to Canada. With others at that time, later those returning draft dodgers, when allowed to return, unpunished, are those who slid into the universities to become professors, who 'taught/indoctrinated/corrupted' their warped views on the students,to become those in power/teaching today, along with current school teachers. This was a different form of evil in our country, from within our borders, and their weapons were subtle. Most parents were unaware, and though many were informed, failed to heed the warnings. Too disruptive to the lifestyles.
When my wife and I discovered what was going on and  pulled our kids out of government run public school in early eighties, Texas had the worst home school laws. It was illegal to teach at home if the gov school curriculum was not used, thus negating the purpose of home school. After the Leeper case won their day in court in Dallas, more and more families taught at home. We did suffer much criticism from many sources, and surprisingly, our Christian friends. When we would bring documentation to church, passing out flyers to show proof of what was going on in the public schools,  we were scoffed at, labeled as trouble makers, and radical. But radical was what was needed. Those who criticized us were realizing they would have to either send their kids to private school, church Christian school, or teach them themselves.  This was going to change their lifestyles dramatically for most, and was unacceptable. I have had one of their kids later who worked for me, who graduated from high school, with a standard high school diploma, who was never taught phonics and could not read. At all. Another government product.Brainwashed. The primary reason causing us to remove our kids was the gov implementing a hidden/secretive course/agenda starting in elementary grades, called "Values Clarification,

https://www.gospelway.com/topics/family/values_clarification.php

http://www.chaostan.com/values.html

People could take a lesson from all those home school moms and dads who got angry enough to get radical back then, and, against gov law, chose to do the best ideal, and stop their kids from being brainwashed. (Sounding radical?) We were organized, and had pole watchers, and legislative session watchers, and reported findings like slipping a bill unawares, to key members throughout the country, and each would call (This was pre internet) others in their sections till every body knew, then lam-blasted the congress/senate and representatives with phone calls to the point the phone system was shut down on capitol hill. It became a joke on the hill that you don't want to upset the home schoolers. It worked!
Two Christian attorneys in 1983 started the
Home School Legal Defense Association  to establish a nonprofit ministry to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedom .

Leeper Day: The Family Behind the Home School Movement

Texas prides itself today as being one of the most home school friendly states in the nation, but on Leeper Day we are reminded that it has not always been this way.

In the early 1980s, Texas home school pioneers Gary and Cheryl Leeper faced hostility from their families, friends, churches, communities and the state. In fact, the presiding Texas Attorney General Jim Mattox publicly stated that he did not believe parents were qualified to raise their children, much less teach them at home.

In 1981, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) banned home schooling. Consequently, 150 home school families were prosecuted by their local school districts. Many families lost their cases and some moved out of state so that they could continue home schooling. The Texas home schoolers of this era lived with very real fears of being prosecuted, going to jail, incurring fines and having their children removed by CPS.

The Leeper family is one such example. In Fall 1984, Gary and Cheryl Leeper had been home schooling their children for about three weeks when a truant officer knocked on their door inquiring what they were doing in their home school. Five days later, they received a letter from Arlington ISD threatening them with truancy and instructing them to place their children in public school. After researching to see if they were breaking the law, the Leepers discovered they were not.

In March 1985, the Leepers and Texas attorney Shelby Sharpe filed a lawsuit against the TEA and all 1,100 Texas school districts now known as Leeper v. Arlington ISD. If they had lost, the Leepers would have risked having their family name “crucified,” in Gary’s words.

Their family endured long days in court and many hours of media interaction. Cheryl later reflected: “I felt that I had to do anything that would make it more comfortable for not only myself, but others, that would make it easier to home school without fear of prosecution.”

The Leepers, Shelby Sharpe and the other representative families of this class action suit fought for home school freedom in the Texas judicial branch for nearly a decade. The state appealed the case twice and each time the courts ruled in favor of home schooling.

Finally, on June 9, 1994, the Texas Supreme Court unanimously upheld the lower courts’ rulings that parents were fully within their rights to educate their children at home. The state did not appeal again.

In 2015, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared June 9 as Leeper Day commemorating this watershed victory in Texas history. The Leeper v. Arlington decision not only affirmed a parent’s right to home school in Texas, but also had a significant impact nationally.

After the Texas Supreme Court’s ruling, home school prosecutions in other states came to a virtual halt. Leeper v. Arlington set precedent as one of the first published court decisions on home schooling in the country.

Dedicated serious involvement does work, especially within the body .............
Go to the ant and consider.
We can do all things through Christ.

I voted for him because he's a nationalist and not a globalist which is what the deep state is all about like Pres. Obama and Hillary Clinton. In fact, after seeing all that Pres. Obama did, it's safe to call him a Fabian Socialist which is what the Clintons, Bushes, and Gore are. In other words, they want to "divide and conquer" and rebuild in their image. Pres. Obama called our Constitution a set of "negative laws" as if it was really a bad thing. These "negative laws" are the only thing keeping America, that is, keeping the government out. Our founders didn't want the government to run the country but the people. Today, people rarely vote and let the government do great evil upon them. The people want to split California into three states, but the courts forbid it. The people want to have home churches, and now in some city in Pennsylvania, you'll be fined $500! We demand to kill our unborn as it is "our right". The democrats and liberal republicans only want to destroy the country with their leaders calling for open violence. Just listen to Maxine Waters call for physical harm. If Pres. Trump did anything, he showed the democrats what their their true colors are. I'm a registered independent, which is what our founders wanted.

To be fair to obama, and I would have to see what he said within the context of what else he said, but he could have meant that they were negative laws as in stating what the govt cannot do. Just like most of the 10 commandments are negative (thou shalt not) just telling us what we cant do. (Yes I know honor your mom and dad is not a thou shalt not commandment.)

Just so everyone understands me, I did not vote for obama. I think he was a terrible president. I am grateful his term is over. I am a registered independent too.

We did not riot in the streets against Obama, but the Russian collusion story was totally his and Hillary's, but now that a Republican is in office that is not a lifetime politician that has been bought out by crooked politics, the left have lost their minds and riot in the streets and vandalize other people private property. It is criminal how the left is treating Trump. He has been under investigation from the very beginning and they are dragging it out and still have zero, sip nada on Trump himself. You can virtually pick any other politician that has been in DC long enough and they can find dirt and I think that is why Jeff Session has recused himself from the investigation.. Too much dirt on most of those in Washington DC.
