I don't think that christians need to be reading Harry Potter...I hear all the time, "it's just in fun". Nothing fun about satan's subtle tricks to get people sucked in. Just stay away from it. Just stay away.

God does not forbid drinking alcoholic beverages such as wine.

Wine is alcoholic. Otherwise it is juice. Fermentation process that causes the alcohol. Wine has health qualities, especially red wine. As I have stated before, getting drunk is a sin, not drinking one glass of it at dinner.

We can go around in circles about this. You believe drinking is a sin. I believe getting drunk is a sin. You interpret the Bible to where drinking is a sin. I see it where getting drunk is a sin. Frankly at this point the issue is moot. Neither of us is going to change the other's mind. Instead of beating a dead horse in the ground, how about we agree to disagree and just live our lives in the best way God wants us to. Friends? :emot-handshake:

Ever since I was old enough I have enjoyed cowboy movies and still do and I'm going back before the Duke and Clint Eastwood. Funny thing though, I've never ever wanted to be a rancher, a rustler or a ranger. I just love the smell of horses sweat and leather and when I reach the end of my journey, I hope to be a stable hand in the Master's stables. :emot-handshake:

I can't see Jesus curled up in an armchair reading Harry Potter to my beloved grandson, so neither would I.

I think nobody can tell you to read this book or not! It depends on you and your knowledge, experience (please don't get me wrong here, this is not about worldly knowledge or experience but your own living experience in Him daily) and your relationship with Him.

Holy Spirit is the only one who can answer each of you personally. We are all different. We have differnet jobs and tastes and personality but we believe in the same God and yet have different falith so for some people, it's okay to read without any consciousness of sin but for others, it becomes sin. But nobody can tell who's right and wrong because God is the only one who can judge that!

Personally I try to avoid those kind of books because I know after reading those I get affected not in a good way of my walk with Jesus but I can't judge who read without any sinful thoughts in Him.

We say love is good and hatred is evil but loving satan is evil and hating sin is good. So it all depends on the situation at that moment and the each person.

This is only my opinion and I don't want to cause any debate on this.

Peace to you all in Him. :emot-handshake:
