I think nobody can tell you to read this book or not! It depends on you and your knowledge, experience (please don't get me wrong here, this is not about worldly knowledge or experience but your own living experience in Him daily) and your relationship with Him.

Holy Spirit is the only one who can answer each of you personally. We are all different. We have differnet jobs and tastes and personality but we believe in the same God and yet have different falith so for some people, it's okay to read without any consciousness of sin but for others, it becomes sin. But nobody can tell who's right and wrong because God is the only one who can judge that!

Personally I try to avoid those kind of books because I know after reading those I get affected not in a good way of my walk with Jesus but I can't judge who read without any sinful thoughts in Him.

We say love is good and hatred is evil but loving satan is evil and hating sin is good. So it all depends on the situation at that moment and the each person.

This is only my opinion and I don't want to cause any debate on this.

Peace to you all in Him.  :emot-heartbeat:

Anytime we have an issue with something pertaining to the bible I've noticed people who want an excuse to do something ask the question, "Where does it say in the bible.....?" If you have to question something your doing then more likely than not it is not for you. Stick to Phillipians 4:8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

You can argue about legalism and extremist all you want but the fact is when you try to excuse something you're doing or want to do by asking the afore mentioned questioned then the rule of :emot-heartbeat: usually is to leave it alone.

Just my opinion, you don't have to accept it.(where have i heard that b4?)

sincerely

Same old thing. "Good clean fun" line. The Bible says its sin. That's the bottom line. Again, you can choose to make up your own morality if you want, but you will answer to the Lord for doing so.

Morality is NOT relative. It isn't "Ok" for some people to do certain things, and "wrong" for others. Sin is sin. God is no respecter of persons, and he hasn't changed. This is typical of anyone living in sin, give the line "Nobody knows what is right and wrong. Only God can tell. We shouldn't judge, etc, etc." Wrong. Jesus siad to judge righteous judgement. I remind you, what I have posted on all the issues in this thread can DIRECTLY from the Bible, and over and over people continue to make excuses for their sin.

What exactly do you mean by "Different  faith", it is true that some people have more or less faith, but Biblicly there is only one kind of faith God recognizes, and that is according to 1 Cor. 1:17-18. God doesn't care what you or I believe, UNLESS it is the truth according to his word.

I agree. Morality is not relative. Sin is sin. God does not change. These books are sin dressed up to be attractive and exciting to kids.

So, is it ok to have a grove in your back yard? Or a Buddha in your house? Just so long as you "don't worship it".

Of course the answer is "No", as God told Israel to melt down/burn any idols they encountered as the entered the land to possess it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's right. Books are not idols

When the Muslims blew up the cliff carvings of Budda that were hundreds of years old......................was that okay????

Paul stress in a couple of his letters that those who think certain days are more special than others, and people who want to eat meat that has been offered to idols have a right to their opinion, but not to force their opinion on others.

Is it the fact that witchcraft is mentioned that makes the books objectionable to folks, or the light witches are presented in? The reason I am asking is that people don't seem to have a problem with the "Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis, or the Lord of the Rings which mentions Wizards and spells.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
