Jesus loves this planet

I am interested in learning more about Jesus and his love for this planet. I am looking for passages from the bible which Jesus speaks of his love for the environment and specifically trees. I have no-doubts that Jesus loved this planet and all living things on it, but I would appreciate a little direction to cite the appropriate passages.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

I don't think Jesus loves this planet at all!

This world is cursed!

Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

It is full of sin!

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

We are to be looking to a new earth.

2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

We are to be good stewards of the earth and the resources of it, but I don't think we are to love it.

Consider John 3:16

"For God so loved the World, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life."

John 3:16.

You still believe Jesus hates this planet, when He, the Creator of the WORLD died a cruel death of cruxifiction for us???

Well, Jesus never spoke about environmentalism - well, at least not that has been recorded.

However, in the beginning, the Lord did charge man with being a caretaker of the Earth.

And there is a verse in Revelation that mentions the Lord "destroying those who destroy the earth."

The word "world" can refer to 3 different things.The world as in the planet,the world as in all mankind,and the world as in secular.Study scripture to see which word is being implied to it

That is obviously a reference to the people of the world.

Otherwise, there would be a contradiction if you are taking things too literally. For example... If Jesus "loves the world," well then so should we, right

1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Contradiction? No. The term world in this passage is referring to "the world system." Just like the term "world" in John 3:16 is referring to the people of the world. That is why it goes on to say, "that whosoever..." not, "whatsoever..."

Jesus cares more about people than he does about trees. He showed just how expendable the fig tree was for not producing.

And he knew that this tree was not going to produce any fruit. You are a citrus farmer, and one of your trees quits producing oranges, you chop it down. Jesus knew that. And I believe there was a parable in here too.
