So now that most of us are in agreement....and I do agree with the OP.

What are we going to do about it?  That's where I am in my life right now.  I have had enough of the devil and his hold on so many churches and most church, in part.  I'm in offensive mode and have been for several weeks. 

Lost people are going to do what lost people do - swallow evil whole like frog throwing his head back and choking down a small mouse.

I don't want to talk about translations or denominations or particular sins.

I want to talk about what are we right here in this thread going to do.  There has to be something we can do here and at our collective communities and churches.

I'll start:

[1]  We, here, in this thread and a Worthy need to repent of individual sin that possibly contributes in a negative way that we have not considered.

I hear you Jane. I think we need the kind of faith that Jesus questioned would still be on earth before His return. We need to stop being self-absorbed...even in matters of faith...and make ourselves available for God. We need to think sacrificially.  "Send me Lord"

 

If repentance from sins and dead works is required may this be done with a whole heart.

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We don't receive because we don't ask as we ought to.

 

Lord bring a revival of your truth and your power...in your presence. Lord, make your people holy...without You we can do nothing.

Ok......I think there's a lot we can do about apostasy.  Whether it's in our church or someone else's.

What did the early church do .   constantly exhorted one another daily ,  Paul was very determined that the church would read his letters and Also holy scriptures too .

For any apostacty to begin ,   all one has to do is start straying from the original pattern Set up by Christ and the apostels . BUT IF we returned to it and really

dug in bibles and really had others digging only in bibles ,  that is one of the first lines of defense .    Its what builds up a people .

Now they also continuously warned as HAD JESUS about not being deceived .     

I would have a flock reading that bible daily big time .    It has all the instructions and if we have the SPIRIT we know this to be true .

its why I have been pleading and begging for folks to return ONLY to bible reading , just feast on it .    

If false ones were spotted , they were warned out against and it was told to avoid them .    All the defenses of many churches have been broken down , due to mens intellect

deception .     Lets bring that original pattern back .   Watch how fast and effective it is .   Instead of over worrying about who gets offended ,  SIMPLY SPEAK TRUTH

and do all to give aid , pray and build up the people .

You are so very right.  The first attack is on the Word of God.  When churches stop teaching it or stop rightly dividing it …… well you already know what happens.

The Bible should be read in church and out of church, by the family, and by the individual.

YES .   And we must continuously exhort , pray , build up , correct , stir one another up     ,  THE SPIRIT would bid us to do these things , FOR THE SPIRIT

desires none to perish .   JESUS built up those descipes with truth and grave reminders ,   the apostels did ,  so must we .

WE must continue IN the grace of GOD , IN CHRIST and do all to contend for the true faith .    Let us go out as we came in .   FAITHFUL TO CHRIST and sounding out ONLY TRUTH

which builds up .    Testing all men , testing all things taught and that BY SOUND DOCTRIEN which has already been made ready for us , IN the BIBLE by men who were

INSPIRIED BY GOD HIMSELF .    THE SPIRIT bears witness with ours ,  this must be done .  We running out of time and I am terrified for so many .

It don't seem to matter how many desire me gone or despise me ,  ALL I got is the desire for their good .    CONTENDERS FOR THE TRUE FAITH ,  MOUNT UP and BIBLE UP .

And the beauty of it is ,   ITS NOT TOO LATE TO START OVER RIGHT NOW TODAY .

Start fresh in that bible and start exhorting TODAY , while it is called today .     THAT IS the BEAUTY OF IT . 

So instead of folks attacking and striving ,   GO back to ONLY bible reading ,  and jus see what would happen .

Just that .   You would be amazed that many men over the ages have made very cloudy and confusing , A WALK that should have been clear and simple IN CHRIST .

The words in that bible are PURE  as a cold glass of water to a thirty soul ,  and they will refresh the mind that men have made cloudy .

ONLY let us read JUST the bible .    And pray seek and ask , AND GOD who desires NONE to perish , WILL HEAR .  FOR GOD desires us to walk holy

and IN CHRIST we have all we need to do so .    Thus start fresh today and dig in those bibles , like the the most covetous man would dig in a field for gold .

FOR the WORDS inspiried by GOD are far greater than any gold this world rushes for .    THAT GOLD wont perish , and it wont fade .

FOR the WORD of the LORD endures FOREVER .     Contenders for the true faith , MOUNT UP in the LORD and GET fully strapped with all the armour .

Cause our battle of the last hour is at the door , and let all go out faithful unto Christ ,  unto even death .
