It was in the 80's profanity on T.V. began.  Shortly after on the radio.   At first it was just one or two words for a whole 30 minute show.  Now turn on the T.V., its every sentence.

Unless you count people calling African American's the N word on normal television, Asian's other slurs and so on in the 50's and 60's.  The airwaves were full of racist language and rhetoric. You think it was better because it didn't have swears?

In the 90's high school kids would stop listening to a musical artist, and stop buying their albums if it was made public they were homosexual.  Now it seems to be if someone is gay it is something that qualifies them as being "cool"

I really started noticing in the 80's how morality was on a rapid decline.  Today its wicked beyond what anyone thought it could ever be like 40-50 years ago.  What it says in the bible is coming to pass concerning the end times.  Morality is on the decline.

The spirit of anti-Christ has been very busy for awhile now.

The 50's only had lynchings, segregation, McCarthyism, high domestic violence and hatred. Child pornography was legal until the 70's. I fail to see how you think that era was any more moral than any other.

I'm a lot older than you so I am speaking from experience from the 1950's onward, that there was a difference, compared to more current times.  Most people believed in God then and church on Sundays was the norm.   In public school, we began class with prayer.   People were respectful of the clergy and others.   One hardly heard of divorce or murder.   I remember hearing of one divorce back then and it was shocking to us.   Families with two parents were the norm.   There definitely is a change in society for the worse since the free sex movement began in the late 1960's.

Church attendance was between 39% and 49% depending on where you went, not exactly as high as you seem to think. After 1960 it has declined steadily. Until the Divorce Reform Act of 1969 it was very difficult to get a divorce, especially a woman. Therefore it is not surprising that it was much rarer.

Point being, people have always been immoral and engaged in depraved, degrading and sometimes evil behavior. It's not new, times were not once better and this too will pass.

The lies on television , broadcast EVERY DAY SINCE THEN,  were already around about 1948 with the first widely broadcast television commercials.   The television shows also,  were UNrighteous - opposed to God, almost all.

Even the so-called family shows,  "so nice",  "so wonderful",  were without Jesus,  and instead served another worldly 'god', mostly money.

So no,   television was never "good", nor "right" with true Christians.  It was and is a plague of the spirits, minds,  and health of children and adults everywhere.

"People" > "Society",  yes,  has always been pernicious(death producing) ,   even or worse when it pretended to be Godly but refused His Instructions and did not call on Him for healing, for help, or for salvation even !

Ungodliness is promoted everywhere, every day,  without shame, without conscience, without blushing!  ("MY PEOPLE have FORGOTTEN HOW TO BLUSH") .........   it is a terribly wicked world,  and is doomed.

The California State Assembly has passed a resolution telling pastors to affirm homosexuality in violation of their biblical beliefs.

I am not sure where you all are on this topic since I have not read every post. So forgive me if this has been addressed.  But I would think that this would be in violation of separation of church and state.  The government can not interfere with religious teachings. So I am unsure how this can be. I will look into it more to see if I can get more info on this.

Here is a link to the Bill I found:  http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200ACR99

I have not seen where it is ordering pastors to affirm homosexuality. But I am still looking into things. So at this point I do not know for sure what this really means.

In those years one could go into any church with the sense of the pastor being a holy man of God, that could counsel and offer help.

Hardly.  Unrighteousness and wickednesses were very common in church leaders , since around 300 a.d. through today.  Sometimes it makes the news.   Usually it is covered up.

Perhaps, in those years,  one "would think" they could go into any church....  thus.....

but finding a holy man of God in any century has been rare, as they are "few".

Jesus says "There are many false religious teachers"  ... and "beware the teachings of the religious teachers" and

"test everything" BEFORE accepting it or believing it. (like the Bereans)

Appropriate for the title of this thread too.   IN the 50's ,  the cures known and proven were made illegal,  and the use of toxins increased substantially,  causing autism(yes, they knew the cause back then) and sids and diabetes and seizures and so forth , without admitting it usually. (and spending billions of dollars to cover it up) ....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
