For before I knew, God did. He had set a pathway before me. I follow because of God and not because of me. I participate because God turned me about, by His merit, His Glory alone. I have done nothing of merit, I can't. For I have sinned, I was born in sin, and being flawed I am unacceptable to God whose standard is perfection. Giving it all I have is not enough. It falls short of God's standard which is perfection purity. Only God has made me seen white as snow in His eye, pure, covered by the shed blood of Jesus. It is by Christ Jesus that I am acceptable and not at all by giving it all I can. I do what I do as I am led by God, illuminated in the light of His word the Bible, and encouraged by the word through the Holy Spirit to be the bond-servant of Jesus. It is by His call that I obey and do, and not to my own standard , not to try to be the best I can be, for that is never good enough to be perfect the only standard that is holy for God. And so I will not beat myself up trying to be all that I can be. Instead I will serve my creator and savior in humility knowing that by grace alone am I justified and redeemed of God.

Yes, But God has given us a FREE will to choose. By the very definition of love , it has to be voluntary . God will not force us to love him. He will draw us to him but we are the one who has to surrender. https://worshipwarriorsministry.com.au/

Amen. What a drudge the "give it more effort" scenario is. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
