Is she single by divorce, death of her husban or never married? Was the child conceived by rape or conditions beyond her control?

Hi. Are we talking about you? If so, please be very cautious and don't rush. You said "husbands" who have been unfaithful and abusive. Someone who has had multiple husbands who have been abusive is going to, naturally, have some serious issues to work through and getting married again should be the last thing on her mind, IMO.

As for the remarriage - I personally see Scripture as saying that remarriage while the first spouse is living is wrong in any situation. However, not all believe Scripture says that, so you will get varying opinions. What matters is you and God. You have to answer only for yourself and to God and no one else. Read it all for yourself, and pray earnestly. God will give you any answers you ask for.

When I typed in 'divorc*' to try to understand what you are talking about, most of the verses that came up had both terms, putting away and divorcement.

So, may I ask you to explain what you mean?

Btw - I am a 'single mom' - with 7 kids, no less - and I certainly hope to marry again.

However, I am a widow. And I get the feeling you're not talking about my sort of situation.

The fact of the matter is, that when a couple marries, it is God's will that it be for life. Malachi 2:16 states that "The Lord the God of Israel saith, that he hateth putting away."

I have heard people say - "Well, God didn't have a hand in our marriage, we weren't Christians, so it's okay." But that puts the responsibility for our sin on God, not us. We are still responsible for what we do, saved or not saved, as we are without excuse.

God can work miracles in even marriages that did not include Him, as we serve an awesome God!
