Do these churches have a news letter or church magerzine?

Go round them and others again, talking to people and the ministers to gain more information about how church members are struggling and write it up as a general visit to an anon church.

In it you could reveal the general low level of biblical knowledge that leads to a poor knowledge of God and what he expects of people.

How biblical ignorance leads to false teaching. ( a difficult one to sell to a church being taught falsehood! )

If that is too difficult or likely to lead to a witch hunt try the shipoffools mysteryworshipper and do reports on those churches.

Hi everyone. I've been on a little tour of other Christian communities lately. It's been an interesting experience and heartbreaking in ways. Some of the teachings being peddled are so far removed from the Bible that it's absolutely baffling. One place was getting spammed with pornography. I spoke briefly with a person who was trying to get a better grasp on the nature of God and said she barely read the Bible. I know we have disagreements here and sometimes people are confused but the level of it I saw in some of the places I went to was so much worse. If that's the state so many people professing Christianity are in then it's really distressing. Anyway we've got a good thing going here at Worthy! Just wanted to share my experience.

I think you mean online communities?   Yes, that is sad they are so confused.

I used to help moderate at another site.   We had good, sound Bible teaching.   I often posted devotionals or teachings by Charles Spurgeon and other sound, old time pastors.   It wasn't a busy site but the members we had that were fairly active were loving, sincere Christians...sound in faith.   Every now and then someone would come needing help, and we would help them.

But basically the site was slow.   The owner didn't do anything to help promote the site and he never came.   Later I found out he didn't even upgrade security for the site.    So after posting for 13 years there as a moderator, the site was hacked and destroyed.   But hopefully guests  were helped by what they read there, even if they didn't participate.

Right. Online communities. A shame about that other site. Sometimes all it takes is one major setback to destroy a group.

Appreciation

Hi @AnOrangeCat

Wow, I can see how bad things still are out there. When I got back online after a 13 years, it was surprising to see all the abandoned Christian sites hanging in cyber space like ghost towns, with nobody and no activity. It was just amazing. One alleged Christian chat site was down right vulgar when accessing the rooms. Awful stuff, and shocking. Another one gave me buggy software that caused potential harm to my computer. I was so naive, vulnerable, and unaware of the problems some of them could cause. I'm so thankful for the protective status of Worthy's site. It's safe and secure here, and I love it!  God bless WCF.:emot-heartbeat:

Shipoffools is a really bad site.

I have seen some of the Christian message boards on the internet and they are somewhat scary. I can see why Worthy has so many Christians who participate..

I too, checked into a few places before I came across this one recently, even got run out on a rail from one (it's OK, Christ warned that might happen) and on here I've found that while I still ruffle some feathers on occasion for the most part there's more meaningful discourse as opposed to craziness here than in the other places I saw. (I will admit my sample size is minute so my experience can only reflect that)

Thanks for the reminder! We really do have a special thing going here at Worthy. We're blessed. Thanks @George for all your hard work! :bighug2:and thanks to all the other servants who give so much of their time to create a great space for us to enjoy :group-hug:

I can attest that there aren't a lot of good places online to nourish the soul. It seems there is more information provided by those trying to tear down the church than bring it up. I can also say that there are churches out there that walk the walk. Members go on missionaries to spread the gospel to other countries; tithes are used to help the needy and sincere sermons that come straight from the bible are preached. If I understand you correctly, finding Christian sites plastered with pornography isn't shocking to me, but I do find it disturbing. Unfortunately, freely searching on the Internet about Christianity will lead to frustration and sadness.  Because of this, I am glad I found this site.
