Faith is trusting God when our limited intellects cannot understand / work God out..

If you only trust in what your mind can comprehend then you are trusting in yourself only..

But we can be assured that on a joyful day we shall understand all things.. :)

1 Corinthians 13: KJV

9"For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. {10} But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. {11} When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. {12} For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

my intellect comes from God, and he did not write a book the can't be understood.

Logic runs into an assumption any way you take it, when dealing with the real issues of life.  We can set up logic problems for an academic excersize for beginning logic students that do not rely on assumption.  But as soon as you abandon the classroom and enter the real world, logic leads to faith.  Faith in your assumptions.

I see in the other posts you have done here that you have a strong belief in your logic.  Most of us that post on such topics do.  But we come to very different conclusions on some issues.  What unites us here is our assumption that we hold that God is real, that the author of the Bible is God and that Jesus is God in human form who died for the sins of the world, including abominations as you are referring to in your other posts.

A simple logic excersize is to use one of the many online tools available and look up abomination in one of the older translations. Here is some simple logic:

  • premise: Abomination has this definition in modern english:
    1. something greatly disliked or abhorred.
    2. intense aversion or loathing; detestation.
    3. a vile or shameful action, condition, or habit.
  • premise: Abomination logically requires a object to operate against as it is a noun form of a verb.  Meaning that something or someone must feel the emotions that are descrirbed by the noun.
    • example to ensure clarity: To a cat, carrots are an abomination.  To me, carrots are not an abomination
  • 1st Subordinate conclusion - Intermediary premise: Abomination logically requires identification of the being experiencing the emotion
  • premise: individual human opinion of state of abomination for a particular object is not consistent with other humans
  • premise: individual human opinion of state of abomination for a particular object is not consistent with God
    • example for clarity:
      • some humans:  "I love gossip"
      • God (as stated in the bible): "I hate gossip"
  • 2nd Subordinate conclusion - Intermediary premise: Bible must be source for definition of what is an abomination
  • premise: many human actions are an abomination in God's opinion
    • proof by using subset of human actions
      • Proverbs 6:  16There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
        17haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
18a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
19a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.
    • Other proofs from the Bible can be found by a simple word search on abomination and it's synonyms
  • premise:  I feel that my logic is superior, making me guilty of Haughty eyes
  • premise: I post this rubric makeing me guilty of sowing discord
  • premise: Abominations are sin
  • premise: Sin separates people from God
  • premise: Hell is separation from God
  • premise:  (this premise is left out as a puzzle)
  • CONCLUSION: I am not going to hell for posting this

What is the missing premise?

its funny when it comes to God and understanding the bible how logic and sense go out the window.  a lot of people draw some strange conclusions and have even stranger beliefs.  they even believe stuff the bible says not to, like Jesus was an angel (Hebrews), or that Jesus was active before he was even born.  God is a logical God and he has given us the ability to reason(though obviously not to all) and to me the bible has to make sense or else it has not credibility at all.

But the Lord taught us not to trust our own understanding, but rather, trust him.

When I examine the creation and see the meticulous intricate design-I know that I can not rely on my own abilities but am thrown upon the mercy of He Who has created such... faith is a beautiful evidence of being built from His Word by the power of The Holy Spirit into my life so that it is no longer mine but wonderfully of Him Who is merciful... Spiritual relevance is key in substance to that which God is keeping for the eternal home of the new heaven and earth.

Hi, Seems logical.

And yet; the conclusion you express ( as I understand ) has made me wonder what you are trying to communicate.

Logic is a tool of the mind God gave us and Jesus Christ the Logos is the 'rational reason' for all things.

God is perfectly logical...this is true.

For us it is the same as any other faculty that has limitations when brought to bear on the things of God. If the Lord is trying to teach us something that touches our own self-confidence or natural strength in order to make us 'weak' so that He may be 'strong' in and through us-- that thing needs to be let go. For some folks logic and innate organic intelligence may be such a thing at one time or another.

At such times we might cry out as Abraham did in such circumstances, Gen. 17:18 And Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before You!”

"Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" John 8:58

I hope you become more acquainted with the Scriptures. God bless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
