I think in the sporting fever shiloh357 put a recipe in there for cauliflower chips...I will go check it out and post a link for you here.

I did make them and they do taste good but I like the cauliflower raw better.

Well my church encourages it(but most of us don't follow it all of the way). It's called NEW

Why would your church do that?

I agree it sounds a healthy life style but no dairy chicken or fish?

You will have to supplement your diet with a lot of beans- nuts- Vit. B12 -and some sorce of protien to stay healthy.

Well thanks Doc's for the lesson. But after all of the seminars I've been to, I've come to the conclusion that the human body was not made to consume flesh at all. I've heard a lot of stuff about the anatomy of a carnivore and that of a herbivore. It's pretty interesting.(did you know that carnivores have really short intestines so that meat passes through it's body quickly.....humans have 30 something feet ;) ) Sure it was permitted after the flood, but I think that there are more benefits in not eating meat than eating it. I'm still susceptible to all types of diseases, but I cut my risks substantially. I'm not a vegetarian because I wanted to lose weight, I'm already slim. It's more because the fact that I want to avoid a lot of the aches and pains and other things that I see a lot of the elderly and non elderly go through that I choose to take on this life style. Like Mike said,

There is no guarentee you will loose weight being on a total veggie diet.

That's where the temperance comes in. A lot of people live to eat.........and boy do i know because that was me a little while ago. But I learned that doing that was no better than someone who had too much to drink. So I ask God for strength each day to control my appetite. It's hard but I get through the days. And regular eating schedule helps a lot too (along with not eating anything after 7pm). All in all I feel better since I've been at it but I do have those days when the smell of "da bird" catches me......mmmmmmmmm. I just pray and move on. But

Hey angel, If you haven't noticed before, I'm not your typical Christian. (I'm an SDA) We believe that christ wants us to care for our bodies as much as we do our spirit so it's an important teaching in our church. Many adventist who aren't vegetarians eat meat with the acception to Pork, shellfish and other "unclean" animals mentioned in the book of Leviticus. It's pretty cool though. Studies have shown that vegetarians live an average of about 7 years more than regular meat eaters....I found that interesting and motivating.

I am not a vegitarian, but I do respect what you hope to achieve in becoming one. My diet lately has been a roller coaster. I soon will be moving into an apartment of my own (without roommate) and will resume my new lifestyle.

I still eat meat though I am trying to stick to fish and poultry. I love my steamed vegitables and even a couple hard boiled eggs once a week. I try to avoid fried foods (except french fries) as often as possible. I have found that I can now smell the grease in the food and can't bring myself to eat it. Many of my meals now consist of grilled meats and steamed vegies. My biggest vice right now are baked foods....I.E. Cake...cookies and the like.

Once I resume my (optimistic) diet I will again be eating alot of popcorn and drinking alot of water. One tip! Try drinking a full glass/cup of water before each meal. It leaves less room to put food and will promote faster digestion and better absorbtion. It worked when I was in the military.

Thanks for the advice O'Dannyboy

Although I've been told if I'm gonna drink something do it a half hour before I eat or at least an hour after I eat since water(liquids) dilute the acid in your stomach during digestion. That's another tough thing that I've kinda mastered. I've been able to eat without drinking and I think my stomach likes me better for it.

Anyway, Still waiting for the recipes........although french fries(or are they freedom fries  ) sound really good right now.

Yes I do:

You can buy the spagetti squash at the super market ( that is the title of it ), cut it in half and boil it until soft. Scoop out the middle with a fok. It come out spagetti stringy (hense the name). For the sauce I just use melted butter, cream, sugar, eggs and parm cheese and melt all together. Add brocolli and BAM!!! It is very easy to make.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
