I am reminded of Philippians 4:8:  "Whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things.”  Using this principle, we can ask ourselves, "Does my choice of entertainment cause me to meditate on things that are not chaste?"  Although I have never seen the program, I have seen the advertisement for this show and it does not seem to meet the standards set out in this verse.

Reality shows in general are cheaper to make than well edited documentary series and what not, as most people are dying to get their 15 minutes of fame as Andy Warhol promised everyone. No actors to pay, and no writers, only people being themselves and we being nosey neighbors wanting to see how others live. What used to be good informative networks Like the Learning channel, and History channel or even the travel channel have gone the way of reality shows over good documentary shows and learning shows. The Travel channel has become ghost hunters only. I Used to love watching the travel channel because it allowed me to see parts of the world I would never get a chance to visit otherwise, and had very little in the way of propaganda mixed in with their shows. I still watch the Planet earth series on the BBC, which still does that, but even they pump the evolution agenda all the time. Seems like every time I turn on the history channel it is either Pawn stars or American Pickers on that channel, and both of them have very little in the way of history on them.

That is my "gripe" about modern TV, and why it is not even worth watching anymore. You can find better History shows and Travel shows and learning shows on YouTube than you can on Cable TV.

Yep it's much  like the line from the movie Crocodile Dundee regarding TV when I Love Lucy came up when He turned it on-  He said, "Yep that's  what I saw" when he saw a tv once before. See the last 10 seconds of the internet movie clip by searching Cocodile Dundee looks at TV.

My bride does want us to go to Israel later this year ( And so do I). I don't want to spend from savings totally to do it. So maybe in part I can eliminate the cable tv bill  adding that savings to current disposable income. That and also "spend" the saved  tv time on reading from the left side of God's word, the OT, in some fuller sense for aid in studying geography.

Yes, I have always used the idea that I will wait and see the New Jerusalem. My wife of 46 years and I had signed up and were going though, back  one September, and instead  the Twi n Towers were taken down. The tour ended  up cancelled at the last moment.

My own pastor of some 20 years  is at Israel right now.

My present wife has been and wants to  go again. So I am overcoming my own reluctance to  fly great distances and am planning to now go hopefully this September. We will pray together some more,  but as of last evening I felt strongly led by the Holy Spirit that this is something I need do  for myself at this time. And so I will rededicate myself to preparing in  study for it.

Last evening was a very special "marker moment" for me personally, and hopefully for my bride as well. A transition  is coming into perspective and better focus.

Hey !? Is it respectful to butter my popcorn when at Israel?

Oh I did go to Holy Land Orlando when it first opened stayed at a Holiday Inn. I found the model of the old City Jerusalem there very fascinating. Zola Levitt  used to recommend it  as a good day's adventure too.  I think I will do the Ark too. But to go to Israel is the present new goal.

We are playing Boom Boom Ta Boom  ( From ComeTo The WATERS) via Youtube even now as we rest, relax,  and  PRAY ABOUT THIS.

We [used to] watch but were never fans...

for the wonderful scenery and exotic places they

went on location for the show.

Even that got boring and the rest of the show was

...well, unbelievable to put it mildly.

One bachelor season (I don't recall which) had what I believe was

a female contestant who truly fell in love with the bachelor... until

she saw the make out scenes with all the other contestants when the show aired

...everything he said and did with her he did with all of them.

In the Bible, King David said that the love of his friends was better than that of women.

David was not gay (as homosexual activists claim this passage means) btw.

What it reveals is a man who has not fully / totally devoted himself and his love and his lust

to the one woman (his Bride) cannot know the full scope of the love that woman could give or

is capable of. Period.

A woman cannot / will not give that deeply of herself to a man who shares another woman's bed.

Jacob, Leah, Rachel... Leah adored Jacob until years of that situation made her feel like no more than

breeding stock / chattel / sold into this slavery by their father (Genesis 31:14-15).

Rachel, as far as I can tell, was only concerned about her own well being... a perfect match for Jacob the

conniver... but Leah truly loved Jacob until years of his love for Rachel and the overall conditions of polygamy

drove that love from her heart.

Brings to mind a point of scriptural interpretation.

Just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean it's approved by God.

Polygamy for example. In Judaism was the adulteration of the Levirate marriage

which was to preserve the family name of the dead husband AND to provide for the widow.

Polygamy in scripture is in fact a life lesson as to what is so bad about it and how it should be

avoided.

God doesn't warn us against the things he commands us not to do for his own benefit but ours.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
