Here's a recent find by The Lancet Microbe, ...a monthly journal committed to publishing content relevant to clinical microbiologists worldwide, with a focus on studies that advance clinical practice, challenge the status quo, and advocate change in health policy.

THE Covid 19 virus has the longest lifespan on the outside surface of surgical masks, ...for seven days, ...the longest of any surface the virus contacts, ...those masks the world has been duped into wearing!

So when you removed the mask did you scratch that itch on your nose, ...before you washed your hands?

I'm still advocating the safest and most secure place during this man made pandemic is for God's children making "our" refuge and fortress in that secret place undo the shadow of our Most High God...

We can't give someone the measles if we don't have them...

you are completely misunderstanding the role masks play in stopping this thing.  So you'd rather inhale those virii that collect on the outside of a mask?   Does that make sense?  the mask PROTECTED you.....

But that is not the main reason masks slow down pandemics.  This virus is characterized by asymptomatic transmission.  People who do not know they have it, are passing it on to others for an extended period, apparently AVERAGING about two WEEKS.

The number of people who get infected and NEVER exhibit symptoms may be as high as 50%.  Those who do get symptoms of the disease may not know they have it at all for an average of two weeks (documented cases range from 2 days to 27 days)

Given a virus that is contagious for such an extended period before the carrier even knows he has it...means my mask protects YOU....and yours protects me.   Someone wearing a mask that coughs (or even speaks) ...the mask captures the infected droplets at a significant rate...reducing the amount of virii expelled into the air for others to breathe, and reducing environmental surface contamination for others to get infected by.   If you're wearing a mask as an asymptomatic carrier that person that picks up the can of peas you just walked past in the grocery store, just might pick up a clean can....that would be contaminated by your exhalation if you had no mask on.

Without even checking the links I have little to doubt on what you're saying. And I've been under state mandated quarantine for almost two months. Further and more stringent efforts have been made by our staff here to assure our safety against being infected. Just two days ago we were required to remain in our rooms unless needing our medications and/or some immediate attention.

This would apply where someone over a certified nursing assistant (CNA) necessitated the services of a licensed vocational nurse. (LVN) We have no registered nurses (RN) or physicians employed here. Yesterday we were issued masks to wear whenever needing to leave our rooms. It's mandatory we comply. I understand the dangers well. What do you suggest we do now? Refuse?

lol that is completly absurd logic....as long as the virus is on the outside of the mask your protected. Most people dont remove their masks by grabbing the front but rather the ear parts....so yes, assuming the mask actually stops the virus, then its doing its job, how long the virus stays on the outside is completly irrelevent as long as you dispose of or clean the mask properly after every use.

No, the issue is the homemade cloth masks. Yes it makes people feel safer-but they don't actually stop anything typically. Hold your mask under a running faucet, if it doesn't hold water, then its not going to stop a microscopic virus. But thats just me hollering from the choir loft.

@Jostler and @BeauJangles   ...Scripture requires us to obey our local governing bodies Rom 13:1, ...Paul wrote this when Nero was Emperor of Rome, ...so obviously I'm not advocating rebellion!

What do we, God's children, ...do, ...we obey the government, ...but "we" believe and place our trust and confidence in our God, THE Most High, ...the first name of our God "HE" chose to give to us in His Word,  ...that reveals His Character, His Strength, His Power, His Sovereignty, His Dominion and Absolute Control over this planet, ...this universe. 

This MOST HIGH GOD, ...our Father, ...He "promised" us the Covid 19 virus would't touch us, ...yes we would see "only" with our eyes those affected and those that would die from it...

What if those that became ill, were Christ rejecters, quarantined all alone in a room, ...waiting to die, ...what better way for Father to have them alone to talk with them, ...we'll have to wait until Heaven to see those results.

My purpose of this thread was to show God's children, ...those that have placed their trust in a mask, ...they have probably already been exposed according to the clinical testing results, ...what did you do with the contaminated mask, dispose of them properly, did you incinerate immediately, ...or did you do like I do with my dust masks and through them in the waste basket, ...how long after that before you disposed of them, ...do you have regular garbage collecting service, ...or is it piling up where the dogs, cats, rats re tearing open the bags or knocking over the trash cans?

My hope is you can see Father has been protecting "you" even in your unbelief, ...how many times did Jesus protect His disciples in their unbelief???

Now,...here's another reason for this thread...

The only "thing" Jesus chided His disciples for was lack of faith in what He had told them, ...think about this, ...after His Resurrection His mode of transportation changed from a physical means, walking, riding on a donkey or in a wagon, ...but afterwards His transportation was by His thought and immediately He was there.

Since we are told after the Rapture our bodies will be like His, ...we will probably be able to travel by our faith, ...we think it and we are there.

Could it be this man made pandemic has multiple purposes?

One of them is Father, ...in His Mercy, Grace and Love for His children who's "faith" gas tank has very little in it or isn't completely full, ...is giving them one last opportunity to "top" off the tank before calling them home? 

I'm not interested in arguing this as a "Theological" subject, ...it's just a "what if."

And after you get a basic understanding of what the R0 of this thing is using the R0 of 3 mentioned in the example....extrapolate your own numbers using an R0 of 4 to 5.8....because that is where this virus' actual R0 actually is.  Just take 4, the conservative end of the range....extrapolate that out ten iterations of transmission and compare that to the example given by the professor.  You might actually begin to get a handle on what exponential functions mean to this pandemic.

 

Then you might want to get some actual information about what HOME MADE masks can do.  And why they matter until everyone can get commercially produced masks.
