Well, I don't know about anyone else, but for me I really don't think what hell is like matters. I didn't ask Jesus to be my Lord as a fire insurance policy. I did it because I want to be around Him. He's a pretty remarkable person.

Even if helll was a relitively nice place, I would not want to be there without the Father and Christ....... I guess you could say that I really want to hang with the best, and I am looking forward to letting Them know in person that they are my Lord and my God. I don't know what I'll be doing there, but it won't matter.... I'll clean the streats if He wants me to.......

The use of the vision of hell has been used more effectively than most scriptures in converting non-believers. The idea of eternal heat pain and torture was a good draw. However It seems more like Phoenix now.

I am grateful for the righteousness of God: since I have none of my own.

I am grateful for the Love of God, because I can't love, not truly, without him.

And I am grateful for the gift of eternal life in Christ, because the hardships of this life are difficult enough to deal with, and knowing this, I have no interest at all in the eternal torments of hell.

I am grateful for the mercy of God, because I have no merit whereby I can escape judgement outside of his forgiveness and mercy, of which I cannot ever hope to be worthy. Mercy and Truth forever.

Hell is the pilot light, The lake of fire is the furnace. The fire of forever.

Amen Other one. A thousand times amen. I asked Christ to come in to my life. Guard me and guide me. I did that too for love.

And hell is not fire and brimstone. A far worse thing awaits us if we reject Christ. Separation from G-d. And his love, and grace. Imagine a place without :b: . To say the least. A place where hate reigns eternal. With no chance of changing that path. Here on Earth we can change our path.

The word "hell" is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read: "the grave", "the world of the dead", and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered "hell", that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but have the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew "she'ohl" and the Greek equivalent "hai'des", which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the "common grave of dead mankind"; also the Greek "ge'en-na", which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Cristendom and in many non-christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished [and some believe that this is with torment]

Does the Bible indicate whether the dead experience pain?

Eccl. 9:5,10 "as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all....." If they are conscious of nothing, they obviously feel no pain.

Ps. 146:4 "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish".

Does the Bible indicate that the soul survives the death of the body?

Ezek. 18:4 "The soul that is sinning, it itself will die"

What sort of people go to the Bible hell? Does the Bible say that the wicked go to hell? Does the Bible also say that upright people go to hell?

Job 14:13 "Who will grant me this, that thou mayst [protect] me in hell [grave], and [hide me] till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a time when thou wilt remember me?"

Acts 2:25-27 "David speaketh concerning him [Jesus Christ] Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell [grave], neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. [ the fact that God did not "leave" Jesus in hell [tomb] implies that Jesus was not in hell but in the tomb for 3 days.

Does anyone ever get out of the Bible hell?

Rev. 20:13,14 "The sea gave up the dead which were in it; and "death" and "hell" delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. [ So the dead will be delivered from "hell".

Don't forget the next verse.

15 And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

So they go from the frying pan into the fire. From hell to the Lake of fire. Before anyone thinks this is a nice place, this is where the devil is sent to as well.

I dont have time to respond to the rest of what you posted, but I had to stop a moment and finish off that passage for you, since it changes the meaning of what you posted.

"Hell" though, has acquired another image in "Modern" thinging. While the traditional infernal imagery still "attracts a following", modern visions of eternal perdition as a particularly unpleasant solitary confinement are beginning to emerge, suggesting that Hell may "not" be so "hot" after all.

It is meisleading, to think that God, by means of demons, inflicts fearful torments on the damned like that of fire. Hell exists, not as a "place" but as a state of "Mind", a way of being of the person who suffers the Pain of the "deprivation of God". Rather than a place, hell indicates the state of those who "freely" and "definitively" separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy. As to the images of hell as a fiery place, they show the "complete frustration" and "emptiness" of life "without God". Had hell as a fiery place in terms of "flames and a red-suited devil with a pitchfork", be believeable, people wouldn't take it seriously.

Similar changes are taking place in other denominations through out the world of Christendom. Hell is not "eternal torment", but it is the "final and irrevocable" choosing on that which is opposed to God so completely and so absolutely that the only end is total non-being.

Only children still believe in "Hell" as a fiery place of Torment.

Well done here, Eve. :24: Please see my reply on another thread of yours to get the rest of the story, so to speak... Although, in looking at the original language and in keeping everything in context, there can be no doubt that Hell is, in fact, a place, just not a place of literal flaming fire and sulpher and all the rest. Hell is much more than a "state of Mind"; although, it is not a literal flesh-burning torture chamber. As I've stated before, this would turn God into a Cosmic "mean widdle kid" which He is obviously not. The true torture will be man's choice of eternal seperation from an always-loving Creator, not a masochistic Bar-B-Q...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
