I posted this somewhere else Recently, I think this is important.

I have bought some mince meat(beef) from one of the supermarkets over here in Melbourne Australia and before I was going to cook it I realised it had a fair bit of blood in it. So I washed it out with water, but I still think it had blood in it, even after the washing.

you can get halal meat which doesn’t have blood for instance, but obviously as a Christian it’s not the right meat. I suppose you can get in some areas of Melbourne kosher, which is not supposed to have blood, but again, it’s Jewish.

I think for now, I am just going to stick to cleaned fish, eggs, etc, in order to avoid blood.

If you think it's important to avoid eating blood, then you have to eat Jewish kosher meat. No alternative.

Most Christians will happily eat meat with blood in (Mark 7:18,19). Why do you find this a problem?

And what do you think is wrong with eating Jewish kosher meat?

Thanks Deborah for your response. I suppose I am going to have to have kosher. The only thing is that while these corona restrictions are on I might have to wait till the restrictions ease up since I would have to travel a bit to get it. But there’s plenty of other food I suppose.

Following is one of the verses that explains it:( I am sure you know, but anyway):

Leviticus 17:14 ESV / 155 helpful votes

For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

And in the acts:

Acts 15:29 ESV / 70 helpful votes

That you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

So both the New Testament and the Hebrew Bible say so.

Thanks

What your seeing is not blood, it is a combination of water and meat proteins that drain from meat. One of those proteins, water-soluble myoglobin, is the key reason for the meat’s red color, which is why the water is also red or dark pink. In science class, we all learned that our bodies are largely made up of water. The same is true for animals, and a high percentage of that water is held in the muscles and stays in the muscle when it’s converted to meat. Meat is typically 75 percent water, which contributes to the juiciness of cooked meats. The proteins in a steak are like a sponge that holds the water. As meat ages and is handled or cut, proteins lose their ability to hold onto water. Over time, some water is released and myoglobin flows out with it, giving the liquid a red or pink color. When the water seeps out, the protein that gives meat its color (myoglobin) flows out with the water. That protein gives the purge its color. Although it’s similar to the protein that gives blood its color (hemoglobin), it is not blood.

Like appy said, ...it's not blood, remember when you have cut or injured yourself, ...blood is much more thicker than the liquid we find in the cyrovac bags meat is packaged in.

I'm no expert in the matter but; I've been told butchers add preservatives and red coloring dye when the meat starts to turn brown so it looks fresh and sells?

At any rate, I think the idea is not to drink blood as food or foods maybe like 'blood sausage. Most the residual blood is removed by washing and cooking. I maybe off but that's my thoughts.

Thanks everyone.

i am not expert when it comes to either butchering or kosher certification, but it seems to me that what I am talking about is certainly blood, and a lots of it.

 Thanks

So follow Paul's Example and never eat meat again.

Not talking about properly slaughtered meat( I am believing that there is a proper way to slaughter), but about blood. And I am not offended for anyone eating anything.

 Thanks

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
