My last post was never meant to be taken as a finger-pointing accusation; on the contrary, it was meant to be more of a friendly reminder, if you will. I'm just attempting to help avoid those who would take a single verse and twist it to suit their own agendas, instead of sticking to what Scripture truly says. If I offended you, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intention. Blessings,

AP

I apologize if my response came across defensive. I'll just chalk it up to my brain not being totally functional yet as I have been recovering from a virus that hit me pretty hard. :emot-highfive:

I was just trying to explain my intention in posting the verses and that I did not believe these passages were being used incorrectly, especially since I was not literally applying them to any given situation but was more seeing the parallels between these statements regarding false prophets and NT warnings concerning false teachers and false prophets in these last days and what I am seeing in these last days in many of our pulpits. And, to quote all the context would be way too much to read. References given, anyone is certainly free to read the context for themselves before making a response.

I am not offended in the least. I was just trying to clarify in case you thought I was taking the scriptures out of context inappropriately. I am a stickler for making sure I correctly handle the word of truth, so I truly wanted to know if you felt I was in error. I do believe there are clear warnings in scripture to watch for false teachers and false prophets and that many will be deceived, and I think we are seeing this much in our churches today. I believe these verses give us some window into that deception. Anyway, glad we got that squared away. :emot-highfive:

We are admonished all through the New Testament to watch out for false prophets and false teachers, especially in these last days. We are warned that many will be deceived. There is another post on Worthy Boards about that great deception. The problem is that so many Christians don't see it. They don't see that they are being deceived.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

CFS: This is so very true! :noidea: We are admonished to be wary of those who come in sheep's clothing. I agree with the scripture wholeheartedly.

But we need to be very careful to balance all things (rightly divide the Word of Truth) and not do harm to our faithful shepherds.

I cringe when I hear 'preacher's for profit' but it also breaks my heart when godly men are attacked. Very godly pastors rarely receive the honor they should but endure attacks from believers and secular critics as well.

If we must judge, we judge righteously for the good of the Body and the glory of our Lord. :(

Rev. 2:2 I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false;

We are to scrutinize those are in spiritual authority of any kind and oppose those doctrines which might lead many astray. For instance, when the idol of greed or the lust of the flesh are taught as acceptable by those in authority...it's time to 'be ye separate'. :(Consider the recent ordinations of homosexual church leaders.

We are a royal priesthood , endowed with the might and wisdom of the Word and the Spirit of the Living God.

When believers focus on the TRUTH of God's Word, we will not be as vulnerable to deception.

Here's why...

2 Thes 2:9-12 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Those who refuse to love the truth will be easy pawns of deceivers. :(

Those who love the truth, (i.e. the Word made flesh, {Christ}) will be saved! :noidea:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
